Wine and great spirits

This weekend I joined Closet Fashionista, Amber Blue Bird, Sartorial Sidelines and Star-Crossed Smile for our first ever blogger meetup. We ran around the campus of Yale University, avoiding tour groups to take a slew of photos - If you ever wanted to know what happens when you do the 10 second timer dash for five cameras at once, this photo sums it up nicely:

We are a bit like the paparazzi... and I totally had to get closeups of everyone's fabulous outfits.

After I spent two hours sorting through 200+ photos and processing 40 photos from the evening, it occurred to me that it might be a little excessive for one blog post. But I already wasted the two hours, so you are just going to have to enjoy my photo heavy post!

And as for me, I did manage to face my fears of destroying the lace top, and I cut out the lining and then shortened the sleeves. Since I didn't want to ruin the scalloped edges on the sleeves I had to completely take them off and shorten them from the top. It took pretty much forever to finally get them to the right length and both the same length (more or less).
But I'm really happy with how it came out, from granny to sexy with just a few snips (and hours of aggravation)!

After snapping photos to our hearts content, the five of us made our way to Barcelona Wine Bar, where we drank sangria, devoured tapas, and talked for hours with both the intimacy of old friends, and the awkwardness of meeting someone for the first time. Then we walked to 116 Crown, a cool lounge bar to finish the night and have one more drink.

In the past, every time I would read about a blogger meetup on someone's blog, I was always so envious, having never been to one, and now I know I had good reason to be!
