I followed all the instructions and diagrams for taking the measurements, and even had someone help me. The measurements can only be done in whole numbers, so anytime I measured a half size, I rounded up. Based on their size chart, my waist would be a size 6 and my bust a size 10, so the custom sizing seemed essential.
I'm happy with the waist size and the length, but the bust is just a little too tight. I wore the same bra I had on when I took the measurements, since that can alter the size, but it's a bit of a squeeze, which is unfortunate.
Still, it's a great dress for the spring and summer, I love the bright green gingham and the pockets!
I wore this outfit on Saturday for another brunch with Christine, Meg and Tiffany. We went to Lena's Cafe in New Haven (which was delicious!) and after, decided to go to the beautiful Yale campus to take our photos. The architecture and grounds are just gorgeous, and we would have spent more time, had we not been so freezing!

Oh man, that dress is beautiful, Lyddie! Gingham is such a lovely pattern, and I love the slit down the front. Though I'm sorry to hear it's just a tad too tight in the bust. You can't tell, though, and it's perfect for St. Patrick's day! I love that purse you paired it with.
ReplyDeleteToo bad the dress is too tight in the bust. It's a great dress and perfect for St Patty's Day. I really like the cardigan you paired with it too. Heather
ReplyDeleteCute dress! I love gingham.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo for your dress, so annoying that its tight though...grrr
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, it was way too cold, haha....

It's too bad about the fit in the bust because it's a really, really cute dress on you - I love that print.

That is a pretty green.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I cant stack many bracelets unless its a beachy or bohemian vibe. How do you decide how to pair yours?

I love the print on you and it's unfortunate it is a little tight. My friend went to Yale - it is a cute campus for pictures!

Lovely eShakti dress and perfect with your green bag! Beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a seamstress who could alter it slightly around the bust?

The dress is beautiful. Perhaps you could get it taken out a little in the bust by a local tailor?
ReplyDeleteIt does not look tight - it looks really good !
ReplyDeleteOh... the luxury of being able to take your pictures at the Yale campus..
What a cute dress; it looks great on you!

You definitely cannot tell it's too tight on the chest! I had it that feeling though, it is the worst and makes me super paranoid I will burst through the dress.
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem with eShakti dresses :( I'm pretty much the same size all over, but even so, certain styles of theirs are always too tight in the chest. I don't understand why either, since they ask for your bra size when ordering (even non-custom sizes).
ReplyDeleteThat said, I really like the way you styled this! Especially the small black accents in the cardigan calling back to the tights/shoes - I really like how that's all tied together.
i love gingham! this dress is so sweet. i'm not sure if this dress goes over your head or not, but styles like that always add an inch or so. the same thing happened to me with my first eShakti order.

ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty dress, I love the print!
ReplyDeleteYour green dress is fab! The tight bust line is not noticable. Maybe you could have a tailor adjust that for you.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a super adorable dress!!
ReplyDeleteI love eshakti. You look great in gingham!

Oh my goodness! This dress can't be any cuter. I'm such a sucker for gingham!
ReplyDeleteThis dress is so pretty! Too bad it's a bit tight in the chest... Spanx? haha.
ReplyDeleteCould this green gingham dress be any cuter?

LOVE the dress and your handbag is perfect with it. Totally love this entire look.

I love the full skirt and every dress should come with pockets! I found that with my eShakti dress I made it a little too short, I guess we know now next time.
ReplyDeleteTHAT PURSE! Ohhhh, Lyddie! I like it--ALOT! I had one Nicole Lee purse, but sold it. This color is perfect!

Man, they always have the prettiest dresses! This one is especially gorgeous with the green gingham pattern and the really full skirt, it looks like such a fun dress to wear. I have the same problem with being two different sizes through my waist and then bust so that's really nice that they let you customize it that much. (And wow, that handbag! I love the color and the shape.)
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely green dress! Doesn't look too tight at all :)
ReplyDeleteAway From The Blue
I love the customisable aspect of eShakti, particularly for dresses - like you, my waist and bust are a few sizes apart and being able to get a piece that fits in both places without having a serious amount of stretch is always exciting :) The gingham print of your dress is just lovely - I love the cardigan you wore it with, they look like they were meant to go together!

I love everything about this look, it's so fresh!
ReplyDeleteI've been feeling like I need more green and more gingham in my wardrobe lately. Too bad the bust is tight on the dress. Otherwise it looks like a great fit and is such a fun springy piece!
ReplyDeleteLove the green gingham print. Sorry to read it's a bit to tight - it look fabulous on you!
ReplyDeleteSuch a bummer that it's a bit too tight. It's beautiful otherwise!
ReplyDeleteOooh I love that dress! I think you just inspired me to break out my gingham sundress and try it with some tights and layers.
ReplyDeleteThat bag!! swooooon!!
ReplyDeleteLove the gingam dress!
