The smoking slippers aren't my usual style, but I've wanted a pair ever since I saw them on Alissa, and the price of $12 easily won me over. I put them on as soon as I bought them and wore them while I ran the rest of my errands. By the end of the day the back of my right ankle was cut up from the shoe.
If I were a superstitious person, I might take that as some sort of sign to curb my unnecessary spending ways. But most likely, I will just remember to put on a couple band-aids before the next time I wear them out shopping.

Wow 12 bucks seems like quite a good deal !
ReplyDeleteI was at the GAP this weekend to check out their sales... and everything was over 30 bucks. That's not a sale in my book.
Story of my life! ha ha I try not to shop, and then I find the cutest things I need, yes need in my closet, and well it's hard to resist! Ooopsie! Sometimes I'm glad because there is no Target down here, I'm dangerous in there, their prices are unbelievable! I so wish there were good thrift stores where I live, look at that blouse, is gorge! I know the slippers are not the typical shoes you go for, but I love them they are fun and comfy pretty sure you're going to get so much out of them!

Thanks for your comment.
Very soon
I think I shopped more the week after NY's than before the holidays - some of the deals were a little too good to pass up. I'm glad most of the big sales are behind us now - buying full price doesn't seem so tempting!
ReplyDeleteLove that nail polish color!
ReplyDeleteTrying not to shop is so hard! I really have to stop myself from going into stores that I know will tempt me! I once stayed away from TJ Maxx and Marshalls for 2 months just to avoid the temptation!
Aren't gold and glittery shoes just the best?! I am honored I could ever have any influence on you. You are such a style icon to me!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm not allowed to shop until March. We could figure out an accountability system if you wanted!
Those shoes are amazing! And it really makes the whole outfit look rich and lux!
ReplyDeleteReally sharp outfit Lydia! I love your vest and gold shoes. Looks great with that denim and blue. It's so hard not to shop. Seems like everything you want comes out when you put yourself on a ban.

You can't beat 12 bucks for those cute loafers! When I'm trying not to shop, I always want to buy everything!

Oh no!! I'm sorry to hear those shoes destroyed your feet. That's no fun at all! Sometimes cheap shoes just aren't the way to win. I don't think I've trusted a pair of shoes under $50 for a few years now. Best of luck to finding a cute pair one day soon, though!
ReplyDeleteI love the navy under that furry vest!
love a good deal! those are too cute.
ReplyDeleteI think this is the story of everyone's life - and I know it's certainly been the story of mine lately. I know I should curb my spending with my trip to Paris being just over a month away but then I find myself downtown with time to kill and the next thing I know I'm in the sale section of a shoe department or standing in line at Sephora holding a new lipstick. The only thing I can really say is this... those flats are adorable! And, with any luck, you'll break them in over time :)

Those gold slippers were a steal and I would've picked up them up as well at that price! Great look. No shopping on this end either!
ReplyDeleteThose shoes were a bargain at only $12. I have a hard time saying no to almost anything that involves glitter. I have been wanting a pair of loafers for ages but haven't purchased a pair yet. I love your vest.

LOL I am currently living vicariously through your shopping so I would be the worst kind of enabler for you. I am wearing gold smoking slippers in my post today too! They are not from Old Navy, but they did cut up my heels when I first got them too! Oh the price of fashion!
ReplyDeleteJust discovered your blog and I LOVE IT!!!! You definitely have a new follower!!! :)

I'm trying not to shop too, but what can you do, some things are must haves :)
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem! I used to buy many things each week but now it's very difficult to me to find something that I really like.

Such a cute outfit! Loving the combination of the navy top, fur vest and glitter flats! I love me a mix of textures like that. :)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your feet though. I was in Boston the other day wearing the most inappropriate shoes for that city ever and totally destroyed my heels. Ohh, what we do for cute shoes!
I love those flats!! They are so cute. Obviously they just need to be broken in a bit. I have been trying really hard not to shop too. It I just so HARD!!!

Oh the slipper are lovely! They look brilliant yet comfy. I like Target too. Hard not to browse there.
ReplyDeleteShame on those flats for hurting you! But they're so cute :D
ReplyDeleteAnd yea...I need to stop shopping too, I've spent far too much money lately. :/

Target really is the worst--I say that I'm going in for some snacks, and the next thing you know, I'm leaving with makeup and clothes overflowing my cart. I love the slippers (I have a pair in red and its proven very versatile in the winter). What a great faux fur vest as well.

Those little gold shoes are so cute! I know what you mean about trying not to shop. I wasn't going to shop at all in January and then I bought a couple small things at the J.Crew sale. I'm working on budgeting in the new year, especially for things that are unnecessary like more clothes, shoes, bags, etc. It's hard!!!
ReplyDeleteIN LOVE with your vest <3333
