As ponchos are trending right now, I've decided to dig out this shawl and hopefully this won't be the last you'll see of it.

You know it's a good piece when you can't get rid of it! I love that it's so unique and makes a statement. I feel like I gravitate towards that in January when it's so blue out.

I love that detailed poncho. It looks fab with your fuchsia top.

I think sometimes we hold onto pieces for reasons we don't totally understand - but in the end, it turns out that there was a reason and I think that you had to keep this poncho all these years because it was meant to go with these boots. You couldn't have known that at the time since the boots were barely a glimmer in your eye, but the pair were definitely a match made in fashion heaven. And although I never would have considered pairing either of them with a bold fuchsia top, I have to admit, it works beautifully.

Love the story behind this piece. Sometimes things hold sentimental value. Glad you kept it because this is a great look!

That is lovely! You should definitely wear more of it! It's fabulous paired with the bright magenta!
ReplyDeleteLove the fact that you are keeping it ! Its a really great piece that can also double as a chunky scarf.
ReplyDeleteThe hat, shawl, and boots combo is amazing - it's sort of worked out perfectly that you've held onto the shawl and can now pull this off.

I would definitely hang on to that as well! It's something that won't ever go out of style. and you can always use it as a blanket ;)

I'm glad you brought out the shawl, what a pretty and unique piece...and I love that it has personal meaning behind it :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely shawl! Glad you can keep and reuse it! :)
ReplyDeleteI find I hold onto pieces for sentimental reasons too, even if I don't wear them very often It's nice to have the memories when you see something in your wardrobe! :)

This is a lovely shawl! I have a few of those pieces that I normally would have donated long ago but have made exceptions for. Sometimes I like to keep tangible reminders of things around!
ReplyDeleteI hate thinking that just because something isn't worn, it should be ousted. Pssh. If it makes you happy, like this gorgeous shawl should, you'll wear it again eventually. :-)

Aww, that's a sweet reason to hold onto that poncho--honestly, I think we've all got a couple of things we hold onto even though we never wear them. I can think of a few shoes and dresses that I've still got. That poncho is so lovely, Lyddie! Maybe now you'll remember it's use and wear it more. <3
ReplyDeleteI love that so many of your clothes tell a story. I think your closet should be filled with things that make you happy, and well, if that just happens to be a lot of things, then so be it! Sometimes things are special and even if they don't get worn all the time, they're still worth keeping, and that gorgeous shawl looks like one of them!
ReplyDeleteGlad you held onto this shawl and looking as fab as always! Thank you for being a part of TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you soon!
