However this year, these trees bloomed ten days early, and were gone in a few days. Same with the cherry blossoms in Wooster Square, last year on May 3rd, they were a beautiful site to see, but when I went there over this past weekend, only a few petals blowing into the corners of the sidewalks remained.
The last of the trees, the cherry blossoms which line a path at the elementary school I once attended are typically out around the 12th of May, but they have already started, and this week has rain forecasted nearly every day. I hope the rain doesn't ruin them before I get a chance to take photos.
Chasing around trees perhaps sounds a bit silly, but they really do bring me so much joy, and I love being able to share it here.

Chasing cherry blossoms might sound silly to other people, but to me it just makes sense :) We missed most of the blossoms this year, as they tend to come out in March in Vancouver, a month we invariably spend travelling to colder cities, where the blossoms are out around now - I really need to sort out our timing on that, because really, photos with blossoms could not be lovely, as these photos clearly prove!

I love all your gorgeous flowering tree pics, so keep on chasin'! I also love how you always seem to coordinate with the trees too, like the pretty, soft color of your blouse here!
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been so crazy this Spring I also missed the long (longer) blooms. These pics are gorgeous and I'm loving that top!

I'm a sucker for pretty blooms, too, and I think your scalloped blouse complement them!

Besides...we love seeing these trees, Lydia! I guess you could consider it a challenge which is always good for the brain, right?
ReplyDeleteLove the blouse...probably because I used to have one almost like it!

Aw! I'm sorry they were gone so early! Sometimes the weather makes them do things that aren't perfectly planned... but that's so wonderful how you chased them around. Not silly at all! I'm sure you'll find lots of pretty foliage and flowers around for more photos. No worries there. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are looking so beautiful dear! Amazing style!

ReplyDeleteThey certainly make for beautiful photos! You know so many great spots for photos! Love the scallop detail on your blouse!
ReplyDeleteI finally did my first blooming tree pictures last week.. however they did not turn out as I thought. It was like one of those pinterest inspirations gone wrong.
ReplyDeleteUnlike yours... beautiful as usual :)
