I've pretty much already worn this outfit. Forget the fact that it's my new top, the white capris and a striped top were done last month.
Oh well. This time I clearly pushed the nautical element, with my anchor necklace, starfish necklace, and starfish ring (which isn't in the photos because I took it off to do dishes and left it by the sink).
Dispite this being the seventh striped shirt I have acquired, I still need one more. Seriously.
I need one where the stripes don't go all the way to the top, preferably with 3/4 sleeves. I'd like this sequined one from J.Crew, but at $72 that's not going to happen.
Without sequins and $15 would be just fine. Know of any?
The shoe quest continues. I'm now finding it to be so hard! I just want a shoe that makes my heart pound, and a price that doesn't... make my heart pound.
Two new contenders are shoeaday's very affordable nine west option ($35):
and this Jessica Simpson I found today ($46).
Still on the table are the Aldo ($50) and the French Connection ($60).
Another strange and sudden must get now item: a lion belt.
Just popped into my head this morning that I needed one, and I anxiously awaited my 10 am break so that I could look for one on ebay. Found one right away and the auction ends in a little while. I hope I win!
Have you heard about the Surprise Ball Exchange at Oh, My Darling? I've signed up! The participants will each get a random name and must fill a ball up with random trinkets of fun and mail it off at the end of the month.
I must go, Burn Notice is on in a few minutes! And thanks to everyone who left me sweet comments on my last post, Wednesday was a bit better, and today after a brief freak-out over a non-printing printer (that turned out to not even be my fault) was much better. And tomorrow is Friday!!!!

ReplyDeleteby the way, i tagged you in something on my blog!
I love the sailor theme!!! Love all those nautical accessories. I really like the Jessica Simpson shoes that you covet. :)
ReplyDeleteI saw a shirt like that the other day but don't remember where, hmmmm~ haha but I love your little sailor theeeeeeeme, it's cute. :D I have so many striped shirts now I feel like I'm re-doing outfits, too. ; w;
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute you can never have too many stripes! hehe I too have a collection of striped tops. They have some tops like the J. crew minus the sequins at Zara - I got one it was about $19 if I remember correctly.
ReplyDeleteAlso- Lion belt! Did you win it? hehe I have one too! Seen here http://iwasthegoldengirl.blogspot.com/2010/05/chambray-kinda-day.html
it's vintage and has gotten a bit tarnished - i need to find out what to clean it up with!
Lyddie my vote goes to the Jezabel Sandal, it's such a great shoe, I'd buy it myself if I could walk in heels that high (anything past 3" is very high for me). I love this outfit better than last months because it flatters your figure the best! You have such a tiny waist I envy it! hehehe =D
ReplyDeletethat top is SO flattering for stripes, wow!
ReplyDeleteThat striped top is really flattering - I'm totally scared of stripes but I like the mix of directions! I fell in love with a Christopher Ross lion belt on ebay awhile ago... never made it mine though :( I love Burn Notice - is it just me or is Michael's acting getting progressively worse though? I love Fiona though, she's fabulous!
ReplyDeleteOoh, a lion belt would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit! I love white capris in the summer- they look cute with everything
ReplyDeleteWow. Totally want white capris and a flowy black and white striped top and an anchor necklace! I love that you did two takes on the nautical look - one is classic and clean, the other is summery and fun!

I know how you feel about the stripes conundrum. I found a cardi at old navy that meet your requirments, http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=26195&vid=1&pid=696876. It's pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteAlso those nine west shoes are EXACTLY what I was going to recommend to you! My professor was wearing them the other day and they were super cute.
Try H&M. They have striped tanks, at least, and you can layer. =) Love the shortsleeved one especially!
