Last year when I brought home my mustard cords from the Gap, I was a little unsure of weather I was a "yellow pants" kind of person. But they were my breakout hit of the season, and I wore them
eleven times! (two not pictured). So when I pulled them out of winter storage last month, we didn't immediately get back in action. I was wondering if I could still think of a new (and chic) way to rock loud yellow pants.
It took me a few tries, but I think I nailed it, and lets hope I will have another wonderful season with them.
Sunnies were completely unnecessary, but hey, I liked the look.
The dolman sleeved top was borrowed from my sister without her permission, but I know she stole my shoes, so I'm calling it even.

I need yellow mustard pants now!!! love this on you, keep remixing them!
ReplyDeleteWell, someone likes their mustard pants :)
ReplyDeleteI love grey and yellow together, its one of my favorite pairings! Its unexpected but very chic.
Oh you are SO a yellow pants person! I absolutely love it. I once owned a pair of yellow pants, but then I grew. Oh sad face!
ReplyDeleteKeep rocking the pants. They go perfectly with the leaves/ autumn! (Which is an odd thought, because I often associated fall with browns/ blahs BUT YELLOW IS THE NEW BLACK. Kind of. er..)
And that second picture of you is incredibly beautiful!

ReplyDeleteYou and Style Underdog are rocking the yellow today!
ReplyDeleteYellow and grey are one of my favorite combinations. I don't know if mustard is still in fashion but these pants look great on you, in all sorts of combinations.
This has to be my favorite styling of your epic yellow pants yet. The pattern seriously makes them go AWE YEAH. AWE YEAH. Just like that.
ReplyDeleteI used to have neon green highlighter pants, but then I grew. I still grow. Sad face.
I just read Lexy's comment and realize we both have similar pant-journeys.
Nice. You totally nailed it. Rad let me know you were rockin the marigold today. I'm so glad she did. Love It!
ReplyDeletehehehe I love how you tell these stories about borrowing your sister's things without her permission and I'm so glad my sis and I don't wear the same size or have the same style! hahaa I love those mustard pants and the contrast with the fall leaves excellente!
ReplyDeleteWhen I read the part about 'Yellow pants' I was like 'Oh no' but from the photos I can see how good they look on you. And I love the extra like the scarf and bag.
ReplyDeleteYou make mustard look good, girlie! I want a pair.
ReplyDeleteI think this is my favorite styling of the pants. You kept it simple on top color-wise, but the scarf adds so much to the outfit! I can't wait to see how else you wear them!
ReplyDeleteYeay they're back. I love those pants. Like many have said I like the pairing of yellow and grey.
ReplyDeleteYou look great!

ReplyDeleteFollowing you. :) www.stylocrat.blogspot.com
I really, really like this look. I would have never thought to pair mustard and grey, but it looks great.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I am very excited about this post. I too own a pair of mustard yellow cords from the Gap. And I love them. I got them last winter, they're skinnies, not bootcut, and I've worn them tucked into various pairs of boots several times. And loved them each time.
However, my co-workers were not as enamored of them as I was. Most of the comments above are pretty positive, but I am curious - what is the reaction of people on the street? Do you take as much flak for your mustard cords as I do?
Lovely mustard pants!
ReplyDeleteLovely mustard pants!

ReplyDeleteI gave you a blog award today because you are awesome :)
@ Gracey
ReplyDeleteHi Gracey,
You have no email and no blog, so I'll respond here and hope that you read it!
Sorry to hear your coworkers are silly people who are ignorant of fashion.
But yes, I've gotten few comments, mostly in the realm of "those are very yellow".
Isn't it funny how we can get a million positive compliments, but we'll let one negative one ruin our day? Try to remember that and not let it bother you, I'm sure you rock the mustard cords.

Such a great, unexpected staple for the season. Great find!

I *love* these pants! After I saw you rocking them last year, I went to my Gap to search for them, but (alas) I was too late. So sad! I suppose I'll have to continue living vicariously through your awesome outfits! That scarf is fabulous, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm really surprised at how you've been able to style those pants so many different ways. Very unexpectedly versatile! You make them look grown-up and chic ever time!

Every time I see mustard now, I think of Audrey's coat in Charade. It's such an interesting color that's not used very much, so congrats on the bold choice.
