I did make one small change to the look today, since when I woke up this morning it was literally freezing and suddenly bare feet didn't seem so appealing. So I added light grey socks and uncuffed the jeans.
This is another one of my attempts at causal Friday -- I always tend to fail horribly with them!
A year ago I would never have worn these pumps to work, 3.5" would have seemed crazy, but after spending hours in the birdcage pumps and the splendids - these are completely manageable. For office work (or an evening out) anyway - I still wouldn't spend a day running around town or shopping in them.
This is my recently thrifted velvet blazer. I suppose it's a size or two too big, but for $3.50 I wasn't about to let it go. It's also dry clean only. Which means I didn't wash it before wearing it. And I really don't think I can get away with throwing this in the washing machine. I'd really, really like it to be cleaned though. Thrift store smell isn't always the most pleasant...

The first time around
That's a lovely casual look.
ReplyDeleteThis is the exact type of winter dressing we do in Texas! Your blouse is flowy & fabulous! I love blouses like this because they will go casual, dressy, and with anything!
ReplyDeleteGreat looks!
i think it looks better the second time around. ♥♥♥ your blog!!
ReplyDeletecu-yute! Love the flowy top with the velvet! Cool contrast in texture! (And, I'm with you ... heels for office not for shopping. Shopping is practically a contact sport for me, so no heels)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Lyddie on thrift store smell, I had to take out all my vintage coats because they were getting stinky, I guess one of them need a good dry cleaning, they smell like moth balls. You look very nice for casual Friday. +)
ReplyDeleteWhaaaaaaaaaaat your shoes are so cute. :D :D I love your blazer over that magical and ever so flowy shirt of yours, I just want to sit in a canoe and ride down your shirt as if it were a majestic waterfall. <3
ReplyDeleteAdore the blazer!! Great color!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice outfit. The flowing top is a nice contrast to the lovely blazer. A-Dubs at In Professorial Fashion wore a similar velvet blazer the other day. Those shoes are beautiful, and I bet they were cute with socks too.
ReplyDeleteI loooove your floaty white top! And I love velvet blazers too!
ReplyDeleteI love the blazer <3 Its divine!

look at what great smile you have it made me :)
ReplyDeleteI love the fit of that blazer and the way you pushed up the sleeves - I shy away from velvet because it seems so dressy but you've made it seem classy and casual. Nice job yet again!!

This is such a great look! I love the color of the blazer paired with such a delicate top.
ReplyDeleteThe tiered blouse is beautiful as are those shoes! Lovely. You look great in that second shot. That look becomes you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty look !
ReplyDeleteThat turquoise looks fabulous on you :)
Gorgeous look ... you could try cold water hand wash with wool wash - no rubbing wringing etc. but it could be risky. Is dry cleaning very expensive in the states? Depending on the fabric here it can be very pricey, so I guess it'd be the same? Love your cream pump - could totally see them in my wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteI love how the special little touches really bring the casual outfit to life. Those shoes are great and the color of that jacket is awesome on you. I so have to find me a bright jacket like that!
ReplyDeleteGreat casual look, I hate thrift store smell too. You're like the thrifting queen!
ReplyDeleteI love those shoes! I like both versions of the outfit...
