So I tried tucking it in to this skirt, which looked fine, until mid day when I couldn't stand it anymore and un-tucked it. The skirt is thick wool, the sweater is a thick knit, the bulkiness was making me crazy.
I'm going to force myself to get rid of everything in the blog shop soon. It's been taking up space for far too long. I'll accept any off you'd like to give.

Such a cute sweater!! I think my favorite is the skirt, though; I love the high waist. :D
ReplyDeleteI used to never be able to get rid of clothes, and they would just keep accumulating until my closet was literally bursting. Once you get in the habit, it gets a little easier...but you have to ease yourself into it.... :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for commenting! I love love love your shoes and your tights! such a cute pattern!

Oh the gray and the green are such a dreamy combination! Love those incredible tights, too!
ReplyDeleteThat sweater looks SO familiar...I think either one of my friends or my mom had it at some point. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love the skirt and the stockings together... fantastic look!

i'm the same way! i have the worst time getting rid of things because i feel like i'll have a need to use it in the future. all it leads to is an incredibly packed closet!
ReplyDeleteVery cute!!! And I'm the same way...I always think BUT I CANT FIND THE SAME THING ANYWHERE I NEEEED IT, or I'll wear it soon.... haha XD

That IS a nice color green. I am the same way--but only because I've gone on closet binges before and later scoured the house looking for that elf-green maxi dress I used to have and want to wear for St. Patrick's day...or something like that...

Hmm. How does it look untucked ? Is it really too short? Or could you wear it like Liv Tyler wears her sweaters in Empire Records?
ReplyDeleteIt really is a great color!
Those crazy, pattern tights are really cool!!!!
ReplyDeletethe sweater IS gorgeous and the color combination is wonderful. I wonder if a belt would have helped with the way it felt...or if it simply would have felt even bulkier that way.
ReplyDeleteThat is a fabulous shade of green...what I have been doing with my too-short items is layering a long thin cami underneath. Seems to do the trick!
ReplyDeleteThose tights are to die for - love them :)
Absolutely adore the color combo and printed tights! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGo check out my blog (2nd post down), I have a nail polish (candy apple mint) that is a very similar shade to the sweater, go out buy a bottle (it looks a little bluer in the pics than it is)and then you can have the color whenever you like!

beautiful beautiful green and i love seeing it with the shades of grey. i should really stop throwing stuff away :D
ReplyDeleteThat really is a nice sweater, and I like how you paired it with that skirt. Looks real cozy.
ReplyDeletexoxo mama wolf.
I think that sweater actually looks great on you... and doesn't look bulky at all.. I also love the skirt you paired it with.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's pretty amazing you still have stuff from highschool... thinking back to my highschool wardrobe, I can't imagine anything I would have wanted to keep.. ha ha ha. Well, I'm sure there are a few, but they are long gone, plus they wouldn't fit... I was like a size 4/6 back in the day! Agh!
Hope your 2011 is going great so far my dear!
xx Love & Aloha
Isn't that terrible when it's just so perfect, BUT...
ReplyDeletesheesh
Super fun tights! Ahh yes it'd be hard to give up an old sweater with a fun color like that!
ReplyDeleteYou can do it!!! I'll support you and shove the stuff out the virtual door. I'm off to a smashing start. Here's my method: release and don't look at it again or it'll be back in the closet.
ReplyDeleteI do love the color though. oy
xo,

You're right, that color green is perfect. With the booties, patterned tights, and adorable skirt, this outfit is win-win!
ReplyDeleteSomehow, I didn't know you had an online store!
Also, we got rid of our word verification because you brought it up. Thanks!
Great outfit. Especially the green sweater!

Sooooooo cute dear! <3
ReplyDeleteLove those tights, wear them next week!
ReplyDeleteI can't say I have the same problem getting rid of clothes in fact I might go a bit overboard... very occasionaly I'll think back on something and wish I had kept it but, it's never enough to change my cut throat closet policies :)
Great outfit! I can understand why you've kept that top, the colour is gorgeous. I think I have the same boots as you hehe xx
ReplyDeleteOh and if you haven't already, don't forget to enter my Nicholas Sparks' Safe Haven Giveaway :)
And you did a great thing by not getting rid of it, since it still looks perfect!

ReplyDeleteThe green sweater is very nice!!
ReplyDeleteI like the entire outfit!!

I'm the total opposite - I always jump the gun on getting rid of things and then wish I had kept a particular item!

Green is my FAVORITE color. I love how you paired it with gray! The sweater is definitely a keeper!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a soft, pretty look. I love the soft greys and the green is so pretty! You rarely see that color green, so I understand the dilemma!~
ReplyDeleteThat sweater is such a pretty color, so I can see your hesitation in getting rid of it. I really like how you've accessorized this outfit - how the necklace matches the skirt, and the earrings match the sweater. Very sharp!
ReplyDeleteTucking in is always a great solution for bulkiness! I end up getting blouses too big for me anyway because of vintage and even if they're my size, tucking in just makes them look better.
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit--from the blouse down to the shoes! I've been wanting to get argyle knitted tights, but I feel like they'd my legs look chunkier, and they already are! They look so good on you though that I might reconsider.
I love your skirt! It's so cute! Looks like a very comfortable outfit - love it!

It IS a cute sweater, I see why it's such a struggle to get rid of. I really like the skirt as well, the whole look is super chic!
ReplyDeleteGetting rid of things is really tough.
ReplyDeleteBUT, you got to leave your heart aside and just find the reasons to get rid of them. Once you get emotions in, you are done!
that is a brilliant color, it would be hard to replace but if it doesnt fit right then toss it. i really like your tights, i need a pair like that
ReplyDeletei often get emotionally attached to certain pieces... that is why i also find it difficult to get rid of some clothes, despite the fact i haven't worn them for ages!
ReplyDeleteAweee! What a happy cute sweater. :D I am glad you didn't get rid of it, it's indeed such a pretty color! And paired with your grey skirt and awesomeprint tights, you look ever most delectable (if you were a food. In this case, I think you'd be a kiwi-lemon hybrid)
ReplyDeleteDon't get rid of it! It looks lovely on you :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with the second comment, once you start it gets easier, they are just thing, they can always be replaced maybe not by something exactly the same color but by something you will love just as much and maybe newer. I love your tights and the skirt, I really want to find a good quality wool skirt (gray if possible).
ReplyDeleteThe shade of green is lovely--I can see why you don't want to give it up. And it looks so great with gray!
ReplyDeleteI love seafoam green! It's such a difficult color to find :( My friend and I are trying to find a seafoam dress for her for her brother's wedding-- I didn't think it would be so difficult. Also, love your earrings, I would never have thought to put them together with a lavender necklace but it goes perfectly!
ReplyDeleteCharcoal and mint is one of my all time color combinations!
ReplyDeletefab combo big time:) love it, girl!
ReplyDeleteYOURS, MINE AND OURS
It is a beautiful color! I like the material too, I think it looks awesome with this skirt..but if it's making you crazy, I guess it's time to get rid of it. I never knew about your shop, I did spot some sunglasses I like!
ReplyDeleteI'm a crazy purger when it comes to my closet and I clean it out and sell it/donate it about 2-3 times per year. It leaves room for new items to come in and it you do it regularly you can get some money out of it. Do you do any consignment with your things?
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, by the way! I love the soft, dreamy lighting.

you gotta get rid of it!! That is way to long to keep a shirt that doesn't work :(
