Of course, when you are taking photos without anyone behind the camera, there is a bit of trial and error involved in the process.
Sometimes you get photos like this:
Or sometimes you get photos like this:
But hopefully, if you keep adjusting, you find the perfect spot.
(I swear I still have hands, it was just really cold and these sleeves were conveniently long.)
I love it when you get just the right amount of lens flare. (But I hate that green reflection, what gives Hoya lens filter?)

ReplyDeleteI especially like the cape!
The pictures are lovely and that fur collar is fab!
ReplyDeleteThe fur collar is a major vintage score! You need to live closer so we can go thrifting together.
ReplyDelete(Did you do change the formatting of your titles recently or am I just uber unobservant? I like it!)
Gorgeous play with the light & with such a cute outfit too!
ReplyDeleteI didn't even notice your hands were missing until you pointed it out! That just looks normal to me this time of year :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect time of day for pictures! And I really like the detail of red earrings with your red tights
Love the photos, I got one of those dark pictures this morning while trying a not closet shot...but I didn't have time for another, haha

I love the red tights with your boots. Almost makes the boots look red too.
ReplyDeleteI dont think people understand what hard work it is to take a great photo! Ive had days where they all look like crap and scrap the whole thing! These came out wonderful, great documentation!
ReplyDeleteYou've mastered this backlit photo taking! Mine always turn out much more like your second photo... too washed out, or like your first: A complete or near-complete silhouette. I need to work at it more, the problem is, there's so little time when the sun is rapidly sinking to keep practicing... and it takes me a lot of practice!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I laughed. I have so many of those first two pictures when I take pictures it tis ridiculous. :D
ReplyDeleteThat coat looks so warm and cozy! I love the long sleeves, oooh, it's like a big blanket! Stay warm, my Lyddielove!
And PS-- I love your hat in that last post. :D
Love the light in these pictures!
ReplyDeleteThe light looks so mysterious. I LOVE this outfit, you look great!

Love your photos, experimenting with light :) The final photos came out great, love that fur collar :)
ReplyDeleteooh mamma mia, you're looking sexy! =D
ReplyDeleteI've yet to figure out the winter light tricks also and it's really difficult in Ireland because the winter sun is so low on the horizon (I think that was one of the first things I remember noticing when I moved here - weird). Great shots! Yay for perserverance! (did I even spell that right?)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you took these photos yourself! They are so unbelievably beautiful.

I love backlit photos! Whenever I try for lens flare it comes out rather unfortunately :( I'm really tempted to get red tights because of you and I just saw those boots on sale! It was hard to walk away!
ReplyDeleteThat fur is super cute and goes so well with the coat and the flash of pink tights makes it funky! Great look x
