Andie at What Andie Wears is going red throughout the whole month of February to help raise awareness that heart disease is the number one killer of women.
I'm worried that heels on black ice might be the number two killer. I had a fall today and I was not at all happy as I slipped and ended up crashing into a pile of ice covered snow. I may have to resign to only wearing my snow boots every time I set foot outside until this wretched ice melts.

I went to the thrift store today with my numerous bags of clothing I cleared out. So most of the shop stuff is gone -- but I held on to a few just in case anyone was to be interested. I deliberately went to the thrift store without any cash on hand to keep me from bringing anything home with me. But I failed; there was a cute avocado green vintage pyrex bowl. It was four dollars, and I scrounged two dollars in change up from the bottom of my purse and made sad puppy dog eyes at the cashier.Speaking of sad puppy dogs, I'm not sure why Chloe is looking so upset here, I just told her to "Stay" - which she did not, by the way.
Ha! The no. 2 killer of women made me chuckle! I hope you don't slip... at least not with a lens and your camera in hand! eek!
ReplyDeleteThe red and yellow is so cheerful and I like how the gray anchors the entire look.
hahah Chloe is ADORABLE!!! And you look GORGEOUS in red!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I really like the vintage green bowl, i think it's those cute flowers.
I am having the same problem, heels on ice do not mix
ReplyDeleteooh, stay safe with those heels! i really love the mix of red and orange in this outfit today and that hat is darling! i actually am going to clean out my closet this weekend too and hopefully send a few things to the thrift store. i really love that vintage bowl you found!
ReplyDeletecute and little
Those heels are great, but do be careful! Also, your dog is darling. :D
ReplyDeleteAH, I'M LOOOVING YOUR COLOUR-THEMED WEEKS. THEY'RE SO FIERCE.
ReplyDeleteWhy am I shouting? I don't know. Maybe because you're RIDICULOUSLY fierce. Maybe.
But yeah, I absolutely love this look. The patterns work so well. I mean, seriously. You cannot go wrong with polka dots.
Have a red-tastic (hah) week!

Oh, I love the polka dots with the argyles! Take care walking on ice.
ReplyDeleteOh so so so cute! Seriously. I forgot how much I liked red and yellow until I saw this :) And grey too. Win!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're okay, my coworker had to go to the ER today for falling on the ice. And I think I have those bowls in yellow and white.
LOVE this! And ahhh! Everyone is falling lately, I fell 2 weeks ago and my butt has finally healed :p Be careful!!! :D

That hat is fabulous! Can Chloe be any cuter! OMG, she's adorable! I remember those Pyrex bowls! My mom used to have some that were peach colored!

ReplyDeleteLoving this outfit so much! the leggings are so cute!
Can't help to smile when reading your story. the number two killer LOL. maybe walking in heels are not suitable during winter days, but you look great in those boots!
Castor Pollux
Nice outfit! Stay safe on the ice xx
ReplyDeleteI love when chloe makes an appearance :)
ReplyDeleteThose tights are a serious trip. They remind me of Alice in Wonderland. It's good that you can celebrate Go Red for Women Day. I don't own anything red, and I'm not sure why. I think my mother once told me that I don't look good in red, and it's probably the worst advice she's ever given me.
ReplyDeleteI love the red!
ReplyDelete♥
this is so pretty, te hmixing prints just does me in I want to wear it so much!
ReplyDeleteI love the polka dots!

Great way to incorporate red. I almost forgot that it was wear red day yesterday until I turned on the local news and saw all the anchors wearing red of some sort.
ReplyDeleteI know you like yellow a lot but red also looks fab on you. It makes everything look warm and lovely.
ReplyDeleteYou are so much braver than I for wearing heels in snow and ice at all! I've slipped one too many times, so I rarely venture out in anything but boots.
ReplyDeleteI love all the patterns and textures you have going on in this outfit, and your cardigan is very cute!
Love the red and those fabulous argyle tights!
ReplyDeleteAWE you look like you're about to go on a picnic! In the snow! With your dog (who you are obviously abusing, who would tell their dog to stay?)! You could own little red riding hood any day.
ReplyDeleteI love love your pattern mixing with the cardigan and tights! You are so bold. :D and my favorite. I LOVE YOUUUU
Aww you look sweet! I think that's a good idea, leaving your wallet at home, I should probably exercise that more often!
ReplyDeleteThe bruised ego is the worst part about the fall for me hehe. Hope you don't have any other falls !
ReplyDeleteYesterday I had to walk home from church (about 4 blocks) after pancake breakfast with my 2 year old and 4 year old. I was not prepared. I didn't fall but I was wearing high heel fashion boots ! Plenty of sidewalks were not shoveled and others were so slushy. I am looking forward to April. My favourite season (and my birthday) !!

sorry to hear about your fall! :| and you look good in that red cardigan! =)

What a great way to raise awareness. I love your red hat and the polka dots. Bright red is also one of my favourite colours.
ReplyDeleteI spent a good time looking at your blog, I love your outfits !

Love the bright colors and tights! Aww Chloe looks so sad and cute!
ReplyDeleteYou look AMAZING in red! Actually, you look amazing in anything. I can't get over how gorgeous you are. I love your beauty mark!
ReplyDeleteI still live at home, and I'm proud to say my house owns a bowl exactly like that! My parents got married in the late 70's and we still use many of their household wedding gifts, so I guess we have a lot of vintage things!
awwwwww. Pretty dang cute! And your dog is too. Ha.
ReplyDeleteI love what you have going on here. All kinds of coolness, that's what.
Yay for red! You look so cute! I'm glad you didn't get hurt from falling, beware of the ice and heels, not the greatest combination. I really like your skirt and earrings...how did you make those earrings? ("Made by Me")
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I was inspired by your yellow week and finally decided to wear something mustard for my latest dolled up post. Thanks for the stylish inspiration.

much love.
What a fun outfit! I especially love the hat...how adorable. I've also been really liking your yellow looks, as it's a color that I enjoy but never seem to wear often.
ReplyDeleteAnd careful with those heels! Spring and cute shoes will be here soon, I hope...
oh wow! gorgeous! LOVE this hat!
