I decided to forgo symmetry, and also decided to add my starfish ring to top off one of the knots, then I added a second necklace for more polish.
Since the scarf I chose was blue, yellow, and white, I of course went to my nautical place with the rest of the outfit. I love nautically inspired outfits. Maybe because I live across the street from a river and there are two boat yards within sight of my house. Maybe because I love boats and the ocean*, and I'd really like to learn how to sail someday.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea with the scarf! Love it.
ReplyDeletei love that you attached the ring! It's a perfect touch
ReplyDeleteThe scarf as a necklace is awesome and I love that its not symmetrical. Very cute!

Thats a cute idea! I saw a blog where someone tied the scarf into a tie(like a man's tie) and I had to try that the same day.
ReplyDeleteI like how you've tied the scarf. The whole outfit looks great!
ReplyDeleteI loved the way you styled your scarf and the color of your skirt is fab!

I love what you did with the scarf! I was doing a project on my blog where I was wearing the same scarf but tying it/incorporating it into outfits in different ways, but I kind of abandoned it since it got too cold for such a light scarf and all. I'll have to pick it up this spring.
ReplyDeleteAnd hey, I'm kind of the same way. Not such a big swimmer, but I like the beach and being near water. Just not in water...unless it's in a controlled area. Like the bath tub.
Oooh!!!! Love what you did with the scarf! It looks so cool!!!!
ReplyDeleteand I love the ocean too, and I enjoy being in it if its REALLY hot out and I'm dying...haha

I too stay away from certain types of scarves because they're problematic to wear, but this is a great idea. How many knots total did you get out of that scarf (or, rather, in it)?
ReplyDeletecute scarf/necklace idea.. and I love your belt too!! looks so sunny and nice where you are!! xoxoJ
ReplyDeleteThis is such a neat idea!
ReplyDeleteI love this whole outfit, and I am in love with the scarf necklace!!

I like this scarf idea a lot and the starfish ring is a perfect addition! Also, your belt is so cool, I love that it's silver in the front. You should definitely learn how to sail and go in that outfit!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you did this.. I was watching a scarf tutorial video and this is ain't one of the tips!
ReplyDeleteGlad you did it!

You look wonderful, that look is so... intemporal!
ReplyDeleteYou get used to the ocean, its cold but you can adjust quickly (well, the ocean here where I live).
ReplyDeleteI adore the outfit - I can't pull off a silk scarf, you did so well with it.
I love the idea of wearing a scarf as a necklace! The addition of the ring is very clever too. I am going to have to try this soon.
ReplyDeleteAwww...so happy you liked the scarf idea and you look amazing, sweetie. I love how it looks and what a brilliant idea to add the starfish ring:) Enjoy your Friday

I've been seeing that idea and I like it a lot!!
ReplyDeleteEven your knotted belt looks nautical. That's a clever way to tie a scarf, too. Definitely going to copy that!
ReplyDeletevery good idea your scarf necklace ! Pretty !Beautiful outfit.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first seen this on flickr I fell in LOVE with the whole outfit. The way you tied your scarf gave me an idea on how to use my little vintage one's. BTW: I'm with you no "in the ocean" for me..lol
ReplyDeleteps. Thank you for always stopping by and leaving such nice comments!! :)
Whoa look at this smile in the third picture. You look totally awesome. And it looks as if we are wearing the same color of nail polish, which is kind of funny since I bought mine just yesterday.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
you did a great job fashioning that scarf into a necklace, two thumbs up
ReplyDeletei love your elegant style!
ReplyDeletei follow you!!

What do you think about??
That belt is to die for! I have a bracelet that has that same knot, but it's so hard to put on I never wear it.
ReplyDeleteLove the full skirt too. And I don't really like being on boats in the ocean, especially if I can't see land...creeps me out.
Whoa, i love that necklace. I just organised my closet and vowed to wear the scarves I have of that size more often...the challenge is not looking like an overly preppy person by doing the classic knot-at-the-neck...but you have provided the solution. thanks!!!

Nicely done - I live a block from the ocean and have had to stay away from watching all those movies about the end of the world and the huge wave coming....in order to keep my sanity.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you've styled this scarf! Genius!
ReplyDeletelooks really great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! Way to add even more class and colour to a great outfit!
ReplyDeleteI like the way you added the starfish to the necklace, it makes it look less scarf-y and that detail on that belt is awesome!
