At this point I know myself well enough to not leave outfit selection to be done in the morning; it's getting done the night before or I might as well go to work in my pjs, because I will never be able to pull anything together.
Sticking with a formula that has worked well before is always a good way to go. In this case, stripes + pencil skirt + bright pop of color.
Considering the number of striped tops I have, and the number of pencil skirts, I can pull this look out several more times if necessary.
The Rundown
Skirt Talbots - Top The Limited - Shoes Jessica Simpson - Necklace Aldo - Ring Kohls - Earrings Aldo - Nail Color Essie's Turquoise and Caicos
Just bought a very similar top - love the nautical look right now!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good go-to look! Easy, peasy and still looking chic. Too bad about the sequins. I hope you find an easy enough remedy. :)
ReplyDeleteYour shoes are so delicious! I love purple shoes. And I like how you mixed your stripes with a colorful necklace. Very cute.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog. Let's be blog friends. I'm following you and would love if you would follow my blog too! :)
Along Abbey Road
I like the stripes and pencil skirt combo. It's a great look.
ReplyDeleteLovely lovely lovely and I know what you meant re: missing sequins, buttons or other bits. I get so upset when I lost a button and there's no spare...I'd have to replace all the buttons! Normally I just leave with a missing button instead :(
ReplyDeleteI love the pop of color from the skirt! And the stripes are too cute!
ReplyDeleteComplex Cardigans
I would probably just keep hiding the missing sequins with necklaces or scarves. I love the color of your skirt!
ReplyDeleteSKIRT!
ReplyDeleteSKIRT! that color is gorgeous. I want to see you pair it with burgundy.
Oh my goodness! I love those booties! And you did a great job with the stripes! I am going to copy you! :)
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit! and oh no!!! Stupid necklace, it must be a cannibal eating fellow clothing ;)

I love this combination! Seriously, I think it may be one of my favorite outfits of yours.
ReplyDeleteMy necklace attacked my dress today too - one of the claspy things (that's a technical term) snagged a piece of thread. I hope you can find some sequins to replace the ones that you lost!
Amazing shoes lady!
ReplyDeletestriped top + pencil skirt = fabulousness!
I remember when you bought this top...you did a post on lookalikes, I think. I'm really admiring your hair today.
ReplyDeleteand heels, you forgot to add fabulous heels to the formula, you look great, that is one pretty skirt. =D
ReplyDeleteI use my stripe tops all the time too. Love your pairing with a bright skirt
ReplyDeleteI always love the color you always manage to fit into your outfit. It's wonderful, especially in this skirt. I definitely am on the same page with having to pick out outfits beforehand. If I tried in the morning- my goodness, I'd end up an hour late at least to whatever I need to get to! ♥
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit, pencils skirts are included in my outfit formula too. You already know I love and want those shoes!
ReplyDeleteBTW, I have been on the search for Turquoise and Caicos, but never find it at Target. The color looks beautiful on you though. :)
Subtle sequins are the bomb! Too bad your gorgeous necklace doesn't play nice with them... I'm so grateful for Jessica Simpson making awesome shoes. When I first heard that she had a clothing line I was super skeptical but the shoes rock every time!
ReplyDeleteI can see why your formula works! It's more like cute + cute + cute = CUTE. :O) That berry skirt looks amazing on you!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you put the info for turquoise nail polish. It's perfect!
the stripes and colorful skirt is one of my fave combos! and i absolutely love this necklace!! i'm the same way about picking out clothes the night before. no way i can be that creative in the morning! :)
ReplyDeletecute & little
and that is why i have a love-hate relationship with sequins. mine never pop off, but they're always flipping in the wrong direction. my ocd like personality forces me to constantly be realigning them. i feel like you read my mind with your outfits sometimes! i've been thinking about a striped shirt for a few days and low and behold you pop up wearing it :) and purple shoes? wonderous.
ReplyDeleteLove this look! And you have more striped tops and pencil skirts? Awesome!
ReplyDeleteCome check out my A-to-Z!
Love it. Definitely a winning formula, and those shoes are amazing.
ReplyDeleteI would think clear sequins wouldn't be too hard to find - I hope not at least.
After I seeing this post, I've decided I need a raspberry coloured skirt!
ReplyDeleteLove this babe!

There is sooooo much cuteness in this outfit. I mean, the color of the skirt, the adorable sequined Bretons and don't even get me started on the shoes. You must have a HUGE closet!

très jolies photos, et ton look est sublime, j'adore tes chaussures
ReplyDeleteVery cute - and nice blog! :-)
ReplyDeleteTotally over the moon with your top and the necklaces adds such a cute vibe to the outfit. Enjoy your Thursday, sunshine

What a great outfit! I especially love the colors of your shoes and skirt!
ReplyDeleteI hate when that happens!! Hope you manage to track down some sequins :)
ReplyDeletethanks for your note when I was gone!!! I'm excited to catch up on your outfits since I left...lookin good on this one!
ReplyDeleteabsolutely gorgeous and LOVE the nail color. I am obsessed with Jessica Simpson shoes lately.
ReplyDeletexo
I love that that striped top is a sequin stripe (even if your necklace did take out a few of them - hopefully you can track down some to mend it with).

ReplyDeleteOhh yeah! This formula works so well. Love your top.

aww sorry to hear about the necklace! :( and nice stripes paired with solid color!
ReplyDeleteI agree.. Any forumla with stripes and color in it is bound to be a good one!
ReplyDeleteshame on you necklace! I hope you can find some matching sequins for your top, its lovely.
ReplyDeleteI usually don't sew on sequins/whatever if they fall off, even if they do include them. Talk about lazy! Anyway, I'd say that's a good formula. I've came to the conclusion lately that I need more striped tops. I have a lot of grey + white stripes, but that's about it. I could use more variety.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you wore the necklace, though, because it really dresses the whole thing up!
Love your outfit and the shoes are an absolute blast!!
ReplyDeleteI can completely sympathise with your night-before outfit planning... In fact, I've been doing it for years! I'm so useless in the morning, and I have hard time with workwear as it is; if I'm left to my own devices to pick out clothes before I've had caffeine, the results just aren't pretty. Your nighttime planning seems to be going swimmingly, though- I love your top (too bad about the sequins!) and the contrast with the bright skirt is gorgeous.
ReplyDeletexox,
Cee
that top looks like a joe fresh top. and i love that nail colour!
ReplyDeleteI love how this all came together--the stripes with the bright pencil skirt are a perfect combo, and those shoes are such a fun touch! I love striped shirts, I think I need one with some sparkle!
ReplyDeleteFantastic your skirt and also your heels!! greta outfit honey!

AH. I love, love, LOVE that necklace. It's so funkayyy and fresh. AND BAM. Sneaky --- matchin' it with your nailpolish. (BTW, I love its name. Naming nailpolishes... WHAT A COOL JOB)

that is so true! they don't include extra buttons and such anymore! :/

Oh no! I think the sequins on that top are so cool so you definitely have to replace them! Also, shoes! I love them. So happy heels are a possibility again.
ReplyDeleteoooooh! those shoes! I like how you paired them with tights. I've always been hesitant to wear open toes with tights. I'm trying to get better at it.
ReplyDeleteI love your hair!:)
ReplyDeleteThis formula sure does work! My formula is Bright dress + Jean jacket + Pop of color shoe. And since I have so many bright dresses, I can pull this formula off all the time. Good job on this outfit and I love your hair styled that way!
