Forsythia

This jacket belongs to my sister, and she got it an impossibly long time ago... but I always liked it and every time I put it on I vehemently insist that it is mine, in the hopes that she will eventually believe that to be true.  I suppose it is a little small for me, but I do not care.

Speaking of things from an impossibly long time ago, I recently re-found this belt while I was rummaging through my bins of fabric. (Yes, I have several rubbermaid bins filled with fabric for projects that I don't know exist yet. It's a problem.)
I thrifted it back in high school and it still had the original tag from K-Mart for $6 on it, as well as the thrift store tag for $2.

Part of me wants to make a bold declaration that I am done with tights until October, pack them into their rubbermaid bin and get ready for summer. But I feel like doing such a thing, will only prompt the weather to get even more cold, since it's being so touchy at the moment. I wont pack them away yet, but I'm going to try and avoid them; even if it means trying things I'm not really sure work, like socks with sandals.

    You know I love this outfit, everything is great except the socks, because that is one trend I will not follow or even think about trying, but it's good that you are more adventurous to try new things and try outside the box. =)

    I know what you mean about being done with tights. We had a bit of warm weather a few weeks ago and I got used to being sock/tightless. Now it's cold again and I don't want to wear them but I'll freeze if I don't.

    I'm torn.

    This ensemble is so cute. I was a little on the fence about wearing socks and sandals for myself but after this-- how cute!-- and the really adorable socks I saw at Charlotte Russe this weekend, I think I may just try this out!

    I'm also happy that the denim jacket is back and that Plato's Closet didn't buy mine when I tried to sell 'em.

    I cannot believe you had that belt for so long without wearing it- it goes perfect with that skirt.

    I love finding things I've forgotten about. It's like getting free stuff! And it's good free stuff, because you picked it out yourself... at some point. I wish I had a sister to steal things from. I'm always jealous of people who have siblings of similar ages, since i'm an only child.

    I'm so happy the forsythia are blooming! Brings a little color to the lately dreary days :) This is a perfect transitional look! Bare legs the skirt make it springy but you can still stay warm with the jacket and scarf!

    I know what you mean about packing the tights away. I wore tights today even though it was 69 outside and I am glad I did. My class room I swear is only 45.
