Speaking of things from an impossibly long time ago, I recently re-found this belt while I was rummaging through my bins of fabric. (Yes, I have several rubbermaid bins filled with fabric for projects that I don't know exist yet. It's a problem.)
I thrifted it back in high school and it still had the original tag from K-Mart for $6 on it, as well as the thrift store tag for $2.
Part of me wants to make a bold declaration that I am done with tights until October, pack them into their rubbermaid bin and get ready for summer. But I feel like doing such a thing, will only prompt the weather to get even more cold, since it's being so touchy at the moment. I wont pack them away yet, but I'm going to try and avoid them; even if it means trying things I'm not really sure work, like socks with sandals.

I Really Love the skirt and belt! The scarf is the perfect pop of color for this ensemble.
ReplyDeleteLove the setting with the yellow flowers...such a great way to pop an outfit with a really cute belt and skirt!! Good job!
ReplyDeleteYou know I love this outfit, everything is great except the socks, because that is one trend I will not follow or even think about trying, but it's good that you are more adventurous to try new things and try outside the box. =)
ReplyDeletereally cute outfit, love that belt. As for your tight declaration, please dont piss off the weather right now, I so need some nice weather :)
ReplyDeleteI love the yellow scarf with this outfit.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about being done with tights. We had a bit of warm weather a few weeks ago and I got used to being sock/tightless. Now it's cold again and I don't want to wear them but I'll freeze if I don't.
I'm torn.
That belt is so fun! Love it!! :D
ReplyDeleteAnd haha, I wish my sister had things that I wanted to steal :p

That belt is super cute. I still have a soft spot for sunflowers since they were trendy when I was younger.
ReplyDeletethe belt is adorable! i really like the shoes too!
ReplyDeleteThis ensemble is so cute. I was a little on the fence about wearing socks and sandals for myself but after this-- how cute!-- and the really adorable socks I saw at Charlotte Russe this weekend, I think I may just try this out!
ReplyDeleteI'm also happy that the denim jacket is back and that Plato's Closet didn't buy mine when I tried to sell 'em.
See! Stripes do look fantastic on you! That skirt is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty scarf. Love the burst of color! Man, i am having the hardest time giving up tights.. I feel like they always make an outfit better like 9/10. :)

I love how the yellow scarf brings the whole outfit together!!! :) Such a beautiful pop of color.
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't think your fabric bin is a problem.
oooh, i really like the short socks with sandals! and um, i think that jacket is yours now :)
ReplyDeleteThis entire outfit is just so cute! I love the socks with the sandals. And that jacket SHOULD be yours, tell your sister I said so. And the yellow scarf--it's just perfect.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you've done your socks and shoes, cuttttteee!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your denim jacket too, I LIVE in mine!

A great look it really suits you. I wear my denim jacket all the time such a versatile piece of clothing. Love the socks with the shoes
ReplyDeleteSunflowers are my favorite, I love your belt!
ReplyDeleteI love the skirt's material and that sunflower is so nice.
ReplyDeleteI know about having doubts about the socks with sandals trend... I didn't dare even try them on yet. Alone. In the flat. You're brave and it looks cool on you! :)

So sweet - and I think it's cute you're able to borrow things from your sister!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun outfit - I love the pop of color you added with the yellow scarf! I am still nervous about doing the whole socks and sandals thing (I think there must be an age limit for it, of which I am way over!), but you pull it off very well :)
ReplyDeleteOoh I want to look at your project bin! Happy Tuesday (sigh, if only it was Friday!)

I need to get a jeans jacket and you look fantastic, darling:) Happy Tuesday
ReplyDeleteMua
the socks and sandals look so cute on you and that jacket is the perfect wash and looks oh so broken in and comfy
ReplyDeleteOur forsythia is pretty much done blooming. I love it, but it just doesn't stay around long enough for me
Brett
YES! That is exactly what I felt about the jacket, I just can never put my feelings into words.. I just think I need to get used to it, I'll try it on every night for a while and see what happens ;)
ReplyDeleteLOVE THAT "dress" last post!
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit here too. You glow in that yellow scarf:)
I cannot believe you had that belt for so long without wearing it- it goes perfect with that skirt.
ReplyDeleteI think you should pack your tights and then begin planning what to do with all that stored fabric.... maybe you can make me a skirt !
You look wonderful! I adore your skirt and that jean jacket is super cute.
ReplyDeletei love your skirt, and the sunflower belt is amazing!

Steffys Pros and Cons
You know, fashion blogging has made me wish I had a sister so I had a second closet to borrow/steal from :) I can completely understand why you've adopted this jacket, it's adorable (and, I think, a good fit.) Love the flower belt, too- hurray for finding treasures in your own closet!
ReplyDeletexox,
Cee
I love finding things I've forgotten about. It's like getting free stuff! And it's good free stuff, because you picked it out yourself... at some point. I wish I had a sister to steal things from. I'm always jealous of people who have siblings of similar ages, since i'm an only child.
ReplyDeleteI love your skirt. And your yellow pop :)
I love that skirt! And I can't believe you made it! I need to get my sewing skills on. Did you teach yourself?
ReplyDeleteso lovely :D
ReplyDeleteA big yes to your socks with sandals, and the denim jacket! Love.
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for a jean jacket like that for the longest time now! Should have just kept the one I had in high school... 12 years ago! ;-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday Darling! xo
I am all for stealing clothes from other people when a) they haven't worn the item in a long time, or b) it looks better on you.
ReplyDeleteLove the jacket!

The belt and skirt match so well. I would love bins of stuff if I could find a belt like that in one of them.
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit. The skirt is so cute. Plus, the navy and yellow look gorgeous together.

You made your skirt? What?! That's so awesome. Okay, anyway, I'm all about socks with sandals (even in the bad way, like on men, it doesn't really bother me) so I love this. Also? That jacket is pretty bomb. Makes me wish I had a sister to steal--or borrow ;)--stuff from!
ReplyDeletelove the skirt! and the socks with sandals are great!!!
ReplyDeleteClaire @ spinning-threads.blogspot.com
I'm so happy the forsythia are blooming! Brings a little color to the lately dreary days :) This is a perfect transitional look! Bare legs the skirt make it springy but you can still stay warm with the jacket and scarf!
ReplyDeleteYou look great in this jacket. It doesn't look the slightest bit small.
ReplyDeleteCute outfit!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about packing the tights away. I wore tights today even though it was 69 outside and I am glad I did. My class room I swear is only 45.
ReplyDeleteI am smitten with your wedge and sock look. Is there a trick to not sliding all over?
Cheers,
Bre
i think i might wear tights all summer, when it's cooler out! don't laugh at me
ReplyDeleteI'm with you no tights so I rock pants instead, but maybe I'll give sock and sandals a chance. Love the outfit especially the skirt, yellow scarf and the sun belt.
ReplyDeleteI love this look! I wish I could have the guts to wear the sandal wedges with socks. Every piece you put together here is just awesome!
