The Stormy Sea Obsession has been going on for a long time now. Since I first saw it on April 17th, 2009. And If I had a time machine, I'd probably go back to that day, grab myself by the shoulders and say "Save yourself from years of aggravation, buy the damn necklace!"
You might think that if I had a time machine, it would be a waste to use it on something so insignificant, but really, it's not a good idea to go back in time and start fussing with the big events in your life.
So, jump ahead to last week, when Suze of Miss Vinyl Ahoy suddenly has her self a brand new pink Stormy Sea, that she got from Kie & Kate Couture, and the need that I'd been working so hard to repress resurfaced. A half a dozen emails later and guess what was in my mail box this morning?
It's not quite the same as the original, the beads are opaque and not translucent, the spacers are silver and not bronze and the tie is green and not grey. But still, it looks like a Stormy Sea. I'll take it. And wear it. A lot. Fair warning.
Yesterday I mentioned that it was raining, and today it was raining again. And just look at the forecast for the rest of the week:
Fantastic. I've officially reached the point in this spring where I am over outfit photos in the rain. Over them. See this face? This the face of a girl who has had enough.
I'm going to keep my bright coral fingers crossed and hope that the weather men are wrong. They usually are, anyway. The Rundown

Ah. I'm not one of the cool kids so I have no idea what you're talking about. Oh well! The necklace is cute, and so is the rest of your outfit. I especially like the jeans...I need some more flare-y pairs in my wardrobe. Also, I think I have those sandals in orange. They're fab.
ReplyDeleteLove the necklace and the braid!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great, and I wouldn't have noticed the differences between the two necklaces if you hadn't pointed them out.
ReplyDeleteFabulous necklace!
ReplyDeleteI've had enough of the rain too.
I think the necklace looks like an exact replica, it's a beautiful statement piece! I hope the rain goes away for you soon!

You have a twitter? I'm an idiot... just... never mind hahaha.
ReplyDeleteI like this version of the necklace a lot! It seems like a slightly more casual update on the original. I'm pretty sure it's going to have rained for 10+ days by the time this storm is through. Indoor photos. I might start taking some at work :P

that weather forecast makes me wanna cry, who can deal with rain for a solid week? Its inhuman.
ReplyDeleteI got so caught up in my hatred of the rain that I forgot to tell you how awesome your necklace is :)
ReplyDeleteHey, if you have to endure the storms, at least you have a "stormy" seas necklace to wear. :) (Sorry, that was lame.) Love the necklace -- you wear it so well! Can't wait to see other ways you style it!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love today's look.
ReplyDeleteahhh i love that necklace--i own it in black!
ReplyDeletei found your blog through your comment on Fashion Indie Love Affair's ring. i'm the designer and wanted to say thank you for your lovely feedback.
following following, xx
I think the version you got is beautiful!! I like it with the silver spacers--it brings out the coolness of the blue. I love how you styled it too, especially the peek of green shoes!
ReplyDeleteThis version of the necklace is awesome! I might need to get one. I am over the rain as well. How do you take outfit pictures in the rain without risking your camera? I am not a camera expert so forgivce me for the silly question.
ReplyDeleteI have seen that neckpiece on a couple of other bloggeers but I like your version too. And yes, the weather men are frequently wrong. We were supposed to have rain all week but the sun's been out for most of every day - yipee!
ReplyDeleteI want to swim inside that necklace! It's stunning! Hopefully it's loveliness helps to brighten the rainy days!
ReplyDeleteits very very pretty fabulous pics
