I finally gave in and went to Target to pick through the dregs of the Go International dress reissue, you know, two months after they came out.
I had seriously considered getting the Tucker dress, but I still don't like the idea of paying more money for something from Target just because it's got a designers name attached.
When I walked over the the clearance rack this past weekend, I didn't find much. A few of the black Libertine dresses, the leopard dress in an extra small that I could not even get over my head, and then this top. I didn't even realize there was a reissue of the top, but there it was, in a size small, for $10.
I just can't say no to $10, ever.
I walked down to the docks again today, but I guess there was a yacht club meeting going on tonight because cars were driving by every 10 seconds and there were just too many people around making me uncomfortable, so I hightailed it back to the safety of the driveway after shooting only a couple of frames.

This top looks fantastic on you! In fact I love the whole outfit. The top with that green skirt is perfection! I just got my first Tucker for Target dress as well, new with tags at a local Goodwill :) Better late then never I suppose!
ReplyDeletelooking glamorous :) agreed- i think it's absurd to pay a ton for designer low end stuff at target. unless it's impeccably made and affordable, it's not worth it.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo for the $10 top!!! :D :D And I love the skirt you made too, its such a great shape :D

I just have to tell you how much I admire your dedication to finding fabulous pieces that are also economical. It's a gift I don't have- I tend to fixate of specific items and feel like my life will be incomplete without them, no matter what the cost. You, on the other hand, are a smart shopper- and you always look amazing! I loved the Tucker for Target collection; it made me wish Target would hurry up and open up in Canada. This blouse is beautiful, and the colour suits you perfectly. The fact that this blouse was only ten dollars just makes it that much better!

I had no idea the top was reissued. It is definitely worth $10, and I like that you paired it with green.
ReplyDeleteI ended up getting something from the Go International anniversary collection as well, but only one thing, just like you :) (I got the Erin Fetherston bunny print dress.) The blouse is lovely on you, no can tell how much of steal of deal you got it for!

much love.
I just recently picked up that dress (not the top version) on the clearance rack as well. Although the one I bought is a little too big a cinched waist made it work for the first wearing. Soon it'll be altered to fit like a dream. I love how you worked the blouse here with your fun green skirt! I didn't know you were into sewing!

Lucky! I didn't buy any of those dresses either for the the same reason. I wish I could find a great deal like you did though. I love the skirt! Awesome job!
ReplyDeleteThis is just a lovely outfit. I am really enjoying your color selection! I think the green shirt works so well with the bold-patterned shirt. Beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI've seen the dress a lot on blogs, but I think I may prefer this as a top. I love the shape of your skirt. Tulip? Is Made by Me a brand name or did you make it?

I love this top so much. I don't even want to admit to how much I wore it last year. (My favorite was wearing it with green shorts - so this outfit is right up my alley!)
ReplyDeletei love that top but didn't buy it because i wasn't sure how i'd wear it. i really REALLY love it with the green skirt, it looks just amazing <3shelby

You made that skirt? It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIsn't the Tucker print so fun? I think it will end up being more versatile than i realize, which is probably why everyone likes it so much :)

Heheh about moving photoshoot locations. I had to do that the other day.
ReplyDelete$10 is a great deal and that top is super flattering. The cut, the color. And it looks perfect with that green skirt. Love it!

Love the top with the green skirts. I didn't pick up anything from the re-issue either, but maybe I'll have to check the clearance racks.

I have seen this dress on almost every blog, it's refreshing to see the shirt instead, looks great with that skirt.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you styled this! And, no one can pass up $10 items!!! : )
ReplyDeletePS--please share how you made that skirt! I am in love with it!!!
OMG, I've been wanting that Tucker for Target top! I love how you styled it :) XOXO, www.NatalyasCloset.com
ReplyDeleteI really adore the pairing of that top with your olive skirt! It's basically the best color combination ever. And you made that skirt?? It's gorgeous! Wish I had that talent!
ReplyDeleteAdore your blog and will definitely follow on bloglovin. =]

.but i like it.
This top is so fabulous! Whenever Target comes out with a designer collection I feel like I'm always a day too late and nothing is in my size. Which is lame cause I usually want everything!
ReplyDeleteOh... this is the first time I've seen a blogger tuck in the Tucker dress. I think I like it this way better than the way most people are wearing it right now. It adds a whole other dimension. And it is perfect with the green skirt. - Katy
ReplyDeleteLooking good and great deal!

$10--what a score! I love that top, and even though mine isn't even the right size, I still wear the heck out of it. I love it paired with green, I need to try that!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this belt! What a fabulous thrifted find.
ReplyDeleteOh, I thought only the Tucker dresses were reissued. I'll have to check my local Target tomorrow. Loving the raspberry and green combo. You did a great job with making that skirt! Wonderful Outfit!! :)
ReplyDeleteI think I like the blouse a lot more than the dress actually, the pattern's less overwhelming and there's the potential to wear it with a delightful green skirt! I like your photo down by the docks (you should have totally asked someone to take your photos on their yacht haha).
ReplyDeleteI have yet to see this shirt tucked into anything and It's a welcomed change! So perfect, you look like a gorgeous flower.
ReplyDeleteSo jealous... I picked up the dress for $20, but I would love to have the shirt too! I love this print and would love to wear it w/pants, jeans, etc.
ReplyDeleteThis combo looks fantastic! Personally, I liked the Tucker for Target blouses better than the dresses anyway. I absolutely LOVE this combination of colors and silhouette.
ReplyDeleteI'm OBSESSED with that silhouette on you -- it's so flattering! Love the top!

That self-made skirt ROCKS! I looked at it to see where I could buy it (which is not something I do frequently). You rock!
