But I was committed to getting my photos taken at the beach. Especially since I walked (my lame attempts at forcing myself to exercise) and it's kinda far. 1.5 miles is far for me, okay!
I need to learn how to take photos in a public space and not let the on-lookers bother me. There is just something about a tripod that causes people to stare, because I rarely run into such issues when I rope someone into playing photographer.

What a great beach strolling outfit - I love the yellow sandals. And, for some reason, I find the idea of you in a tripod death match with someone to be pretty damn funny.

You are so brave to do an outfit post with a tripod and a captive audience...I would so run for the hills. The beach photos are totally worth it though, and the plaid dress is darling.

I love your beach photos! And your beach outfit is so summery with the straw and rope accessories. It's very true, there's definitely a higher incidence of creepers when tripods are involved. One more reason to want a photographer, grr...
ReplyDelete...if only I could pull off paid that well! Love the dress :)

creepy old dudes are my favorite.
ReplyDeleteWell, the awkward time at the beach paid off, those are some great pictures! I need to learn from your bravery. I usually go to deserted places and if anybody walks by I pretend to be taking pictures of something else. I know it is silly :)
ReplyDeleteI like how you styled the dress this time around.
Hooray whistles and fireworks for the outside self portraits! These look amazing! Let the people stare! They are probably just jealous at how gorgeous you are. This is a perfect beach dress for you!
ReplyDeletehaha If I were you, I'd give those onlookers a scary stare and continue posing...but maybe that's just me. Lovely hat...perfect for those beach days!!

Lovely pictures and what a great location to relax at. I love your gingham dress and can't believe it's from Avon. Cute fringe sandals too!! :)
ReplyDeleteps. Even though I have a FT photographer people still look at me weird during my picture session.
I get that too but braving the passersby was definitely worth it 'coz the beach makes a great location. Love the sunny yellow sandals.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is very beachy indeed. I've never made the move to outside with a tripod... I live right downtown and there is never a moment where there aren't loads of people around and 89% of them are creepos...
ReplyDeleteFedoras always look amazing! Love this beach-y look.

I know you mean - you feel so silly for some reason being by yourself with just a tripod. Maybe have business cards to pass out to all the starers! :)

Aw, creepers are no fun. Love this easy, beachy look though, I gotta get me a hat like that.
ReplyDeleteShopping and Spreadsheets
That dress is so cute and perfect for summer. It's definitely hard to take photos with an audience. I remember when I first started blogging I could barely take photos when it was just myself! I always felt so awkward.

Yayy I love these shots!!! I hate when people are creepy and stare...haha

They turned out really nice! And i love all your instagram photos!
ReplyDeleteYou got some fab photos despite the onlookers. I only ever take my photos inside or very occasionally in the garden as I am too scared there might be someone watching.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos! Cute hat:)

Oh my gosh! You are the first blogger besides myself who has clothing from Avon. I saw that same dress and thought it was adorable! Love the beachside photos.
ReplyDeleteStill haven't had the courage to venture out into public yet for the photos. Maybe someday...
Totally worth it! I'm glad you persevered in your beach photo attempt!
ReplyDeleteEmbarrassment be damned. These photos were well worth the creepy guy staring!
ReplyDeleteThat first photo totally says summer to me. I love your dress, it goes fabulously with the yellow sandals!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! Great outfits and photography .... just 'found you'!

Pretty dress.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had your determination. If I saw a crowd of people I would just run away. Oh and 1.5 miles is far for me too.
ReplyDeleteI really like that dress. It is perfect for the beach.
ReplyDeleteAvon - seriously? That dress is too cute and summery!
ReplyDeleteI'm getting a tripod but also need to rope my husband into taking pictures!

Ergh, people staring at me when I'm trying to take pictures happens all the time to me,too! It actually happened today when I was in the woods taking pictures... Three boys riding their bikes just stopped and awkwardly stared at me... Ugh.
ReplyDeleteBut the pictures were well worth the stares! You look absolutely stunning!
Great look! Love the fedora, looks like a very nice day!
ReplyDeletehttp://blog.badjoan.com/
You've got much more cajones than I do...I hate even taking outfit photos around my house with people walking around!
ReplyDeleteLovely dress and the photos were worth the weird stares :)
I love this outfit! The gingham is just lovely print for a beach stroll :) and how cute is it paired with those sandals!

whoa.
ReplyDeletesuch stunning photos.
Seriously.
They look like they should be from a magazine or lookbook!
& the outfit is so perfect for the beach :)
Such great beach shots!!! love the little dress and those fun sandals!!
ReplyDeleteLove the fedora doll!
ReplyDeleteOh, you look so nice! Absolutely super outfit and setting! And I love the hat of course. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, with intimidation in the air, I think the pictures came out great and that you are rocking that outif t!
ReplyDeleteI love how you look and it seems that you are comfortable in it -
I make awful faces and hideous poses when I am outside. I freak out if anyone looks.
Gingham just screams SUMMER to me! This look is so easy and cool.... can't get over it! I love how the fedora and belt play off one another as well!
ReplyDeleteUgh, love how well you're pulling off that fedora. Also, YES, people stare so hard when you're taking pictures of yourself, it's so weird. Makes me feel so self-conscious. Sometimes a girl just needs to get her glamour shot on.
ReplyDeleteI love this dress (it just says summer!) and I think the pictures turned out beautiful, so you did something right! Even though my husband takes my pictures, I'm still to shy to have him do outfit photos in a public place. It's something I need to work on, because I'm sure everyone is sick of my yard!
ReplyDeleteIf I had a hat, I would take it off to you, taking photos on the beach in public is something I could have never done, in fact taking photos with tripod in public is something I have never done. It makes me do all sorts of awkward faces. :)

I love this look. It's really fresh and well-staged at the beach!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, LOVE this outfit!! I would wear it exactly the same...except for the hat (because hats look weird on me).
ReplyDeleteAnd I definitely feel you on the self-photo awkwardness. I just can't do it! I tried and California is just way too darn crowded with nosy people!

I love your beach outfit, the gingham dress is to die for. I am going through a bit of a gingham obsession right now hehe.
ReplyDeletethis is the CUTEST look for the beach!
ReplyDeleteThis is such an adorable outfit! PERFECT for the beach.
ReplyDeleteI love how you have your budget on the side of your blog and all of your purchases! It's such a fun visual!
(and that old navy chevron shirt? ahh it's so cute!!!)

I love the beach pics! There is something about pulling out the tripod that causes people to stare. I've only ventured into public twice to take pictures. I am still really shy. Your dress is adorable! Until I saw you wear something from Avon I never knew they made such cute clothes.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect summery outfit! I simply adore gingham!
ReplyDeleteYou rock the Avon outfits better than I do. Even though I sell them. Who do you buy your Avon from?
