Curves

Something about this curve hugging tulip skirt makes me feel a little risqué, and also makes me wonder if it's even appropriate to wear to the office - I have before, but I was wearing tights and that always makes a difference.

This skirt didn't look sexy or risqué at all when I looked at it on the model Gap provided. How was I to know it would be Ms. New Booty?

  1. I don't think it's too risque at all - just body con (but you can always slap on some tights if you're worried)....and I would be totally remiss if I didn't toss in here that I adore those shoes!

  3. You are definitely bootylicious but I think the length keeps everything in check ;). Those cherries on your sandals are like icing on the cake!

  4. Definately bootylicious but in a more demure, less obvious, mad men, type of sexy ;) Dont worry its not in your face kind of way!

  6. I've had that same problem with skirts! I think the length helps it not be too risque though.

  7. Wowsa girl! Don't worry - it looks good in a Lydia kind of way not in a Kim K kind of way - if that makes sense! The strappy heels are a perfect pick for this look

  8. You look amazing! I know what you mean about the tights thing but from an outside observer's perspective, there's actually very little difference. But on the other hand, you have to feel comfortable. Just know that you look completely work-appropriate for summer.

  14. It's a fantastic skirt - not risque - just body hugging- but in a good way - I think someone mentioned it was Mad Men-ish and I agree.

  15. Ummmm... I've worn liquid leggings and five inch platform ankle boots to the office before. It is a curve hugging skirt, but it has good length and it's not like you're wearing a backless pleather top or something. I think it looks great, and I love those little shoes!

  19. Why would this wonderful outfit be office inappropriate? Maybe if you worked for a building company with lotsa workmen and high scaffoldings, than it would hold some seripus risks, OK. :D

  27. You've got amazing curves, and the model doesn't. That's why it looks so much more riqué on you! but I like it so much better this way! and youre shoes are so cute ^^ x

  28. i think this is completely office appropriate, not at all risque and perfectly darling! it's interesting how certain pieces can make us feel a little self-conscious, even if we know we look good in them. i recently wore a very backless dress to a casual restaurant and was concerned that i was showing too much of myself. my boyfriend's response was that i looked fantastic and if i was happy with how i looked that it would show and noone else would perceive me as inappropriate or showing too much skin. i don't know if i completely agree with him, but definitely a great sentiment to keep in mind, none the less. :)

  32. I just saw some scalloped shorts over at go jane - in case you wanted to add some to your collection :)
I think the skirt looks nice, but I am not sure if i'd wear it to work - maybe adding some black flats and a top that had sleeves. Then again that's just me.

  39. Feeling risqué can be good sometimes. You don't look too risqué at all though--definitely work appropriate in my opinion! Curves are better than stick-straight models any day.

  40. That top is pretty unique. Is it like a puff cap sleeve w/ a ruffle? well, I love it! I only have a couple of tulip skirts and I think it can be sexy, I also like Lorena's idea of flats as well, and can see them with tights too!. Happy weekend dear you look lovely.
