The owner came running out after her, calling - but anyone who has a dog knows that when they are loose, the chase is exactly what they want and the defiant little dog just took off further down the street.
I didn't really think I could be of any assistance to the owner and the dog wasn't in any danger, so I just continued on my way.
Then I hear, "LADY! LADY! Stop walking! She's following you!" I think it's worth noting that the dog was several yards ahead of me at this point; but I stop anyway, wait for the owner to grab the pup, and continue on my way, as the owner loudly reports to her boyfriend that "The dog was just following that lady!"
That lady? Don't I feel special?

looking classy and fabulous. i got busted taking pics with my tripod today. my neighbor said "what are you, a photographer now?" "no sir, i have a fashion blog." cue awkward stares and moment of silence.
ReplyDeleteThat doggy knows good style when he/she see's it! Ha ha. :) Love that dress and your scallop edge blazer. I can't believe that dress comes from Avon.
ReplyDeleteWill pay more attention to the catalogs now!
I'm in awe of that scalloped hem blazer - what a perfect piece! You should insist that everyone call you "that Lady" from now on.

What another awesome dress! I saw this in Avon. I love how you paired it with the blazer!
ReplyDeleteAt least the lady chasing after her dog didn't call you mam! I hate when people do that. It makes me feel so old!
Oh goodness, haha. Funny doggy story. Well, I think being called a "lady" is a great compliment!! :)
ReplyDeleteI saw the scallop detail on your blazer and I instantly fell in love. One of my favorite details in clothing right now.

ReplyDeleteaww.. Disney Movies are my favorite! Your dress is so adorable. I love love love the print.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dress and blazer! Isn't it weird to be called lady or mam? Its so impersonal but I guess pretty standard...
ReplyDeleteAesthetic Lounge
Lovely outfit. Love the print of the dress, the scalloped hem on the jacket, it all works wonderfully together.
ReplyDeleteThis is perfect. The pattern on the dress with the scalloped edges of the blazer. Perfect. And the lion belt (I wore an owl belt today myself) is the perfect quirky touch. I think this might be my favorite of yours.
ReplyDeletehaha! that is so funny!! I got chased down by a dog just on Tuesday! And I felt retarded because as I was running away from it I ran into a tree!! True story. I felt retarded and I have bruises up and down my arms and legs now!! :(

Beautiful! I love your blazer. Take care!
ReplyDeleteOh no, I sympathize with anyone who's dog goes on random meandering fits. I have a shih tzu who is a perfect little gentlemen on walks, and at 12 yrs old we let him off leash most days because he's so goddamn slow. But every now and then he likes to run up to people's doors, especially if their open, and walk inside...
ReplyDeleteThank goodness no one has objected to his visits during his 12 years on the planet and in fact, we've made good friends with lots of neighbours over the years due to his insistence on being noticed and petted, but whew, it's never wracking having to knock on a stranger's door and say, "Is my dog there, can I have him?"
Oh right, this isn't a dog blog....
Love the print on the dress, seriously love, actually. I like your pairing with the blazer, never would have thought of buying something like that, actually, because the truth is I'm never sure how to pair things like that (not quite a blazer because of the flowy touches but not a cardi, either) those kinds of things tend to stump me ;-)
But now I am intrigued about trying that!

I love the scalloped edge on the blazer!! You look great - as always!!

What nerve some people have! Get a freaking leash jeez! I love the scalloped blazer--so chic! Your story reminds me of Lady and the Tramp. "She's never called me that before . . ." Sorry about your little run in, hun. Maybe it's because you look so ladylike in this outfit? Score!
ReplyDeleteYou look very classy and your blazer is simply gorgeous!

that dress is incredible...love how the shape of the print mimics the shape of the scallop hem on the dress!! At least the dog owner did not call you mamm...I get that ahhh!

I. love. the. blazer.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was vintage but just read it was H&M!
AND I HATE.BEING.CALLED."LADY"or "SEÑORA".
Hits me in the wrong place. Wanna hit them.
But, I am getting older so I guess I better start getting use to it.
Wow, 'that lady'... how nice of them! However I am LOVING that blazer with the scallop details, that is such a cute find! And the print on your dress is really unique and pretty. Also... this location? Totally makes me miss New England! Jealous...

well, you definitely do look ladylike. such a pretty look!
ReplyDeleteyour blog is amazing! just had to tell you that :)
ReplyDeleteI love the outfit! I can't believe that dress is Avon. It really is a chic piece.
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting how, if her perception was that her dog was following you, that she didn't apologize to the inconvenience of being chased by her dog. Very interesting indeed.
That's so funny! I guess there's a lot worse things you could have been called other than 'that lady'. And I love that blazer so much!
ReplyDeleteShopping and Spreadsheets
You look like a royal lady!! this outfit is gorgeous, I don't know where to start, blazer = 10, dress ...another 10 and belt = '11' :)

Maybe the dog thought you were way more chic than his owner, so that's why he followed you :) You do look very ladylike and sophisticated! I love that gold belt!
ReplyDeleteHahaha the pup surely knows style but I don;t understand why the owner thought it was following you when it was ahead of you!!!

ReplyDeleteThe perils of blogging! I'd go with 'lady' because you do look lady-like in this dress.
ReplyDeleteThink I've definitely told you before, but that pattern is just so pretty. Ugh, should have tried on the scalloped hem blazer when I saw it! It looks so versatile and could definitely transition really well into fall.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty blazer. I love it!
ReplyDeleteMaybe the dog had eyes in the back of its head?
