I was listening to the NPR the other night (more happenstance than choice) and a narrator was telling about her favorite sound of the summer, a wooden roller coaster.
I love roller coasters. I haven't been on one in two years, and now I want to go to Lake Compounce in the worst way. I can still remember the day that I stopped being afraid of roller coasters and started loving them; it was on a wooden roller coaster at Lake Compounce. That feeling of weightlessness during that first big plunge, the speed and the wind, remembering to throw your hands up above your head when you pass by the camera, so you are sure to get a good photo....Connecticut blogger trip to Lake Compounce, anyone?

I've been trying to organize a trip to Lake Compounce so I would so be down for that - we could do some shopping first and then ride a coaster!

Loving that blazer, I'm a big fan of anything scalloped! xo
ReplyDeleteI used to love all rides. Then, apparently and without my consent, I got old. Now even a little bump in the car makes my stomach go all funny. The blazer is so pretty and delicate!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit!
ReplyDeleteAnd woooo lake compounce, I'm down depending on the day, haha ;)

Colorado is a little far from Connecticut, otherwise I'd be in! I love roller coasters!
ReplyDeleteThis dress is fantastic on you! Love the print and it has pockets??? Amazing!
that's a beautiful dress and blazer/top. can't believe you were being rained on...
ReplyDeleteI've only been on one roller coaster and it was a roller coaster on training wheels, you know the tiny ones that don't even cause a thrill. I was deathly afraid but was forced by my family to go. Never again will I ever go on one of those crazy rides! I love the sea foam-ish accents to your neutral outfit.
ReplyDeleteA scalloped blazer? Girl, your shopping skills leave me speechless! If I lived closer I'd take you shopping with me :)
ReplyDeletethat necklace always makes me smile, no matter what you pair it with it is fantastic!!!

Absolutely love the print of your dress and that necklace is the perfect touch.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been on a rollercoaster in a while either. I need to make it happen.
Love the print on this dress, and the matching jewelry + nail polish combo.
ReplyDeleteBest roller coaster I've ever been on is the Mummy Returns ride at Universal. (All I know about Lake Compounce these days is that the road section they closed for construction has made traffic in that area so much more pleasant, haha.)
Love that print on your dress and your heels.

ReplyDeleteWe LOVE roller coasters! We go to Cedar Point every summer and it is so much fun. We feel like little kids all over again with that adrenaline rush.

This may be my most favorite outfit of yours yet! Everything about it is gorgeous and perfect, and I really adore the pretty turquoise necklace and watch with the colors in the dress. You look really stunning and SO chic.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Lake Compounce, but I sure love roller coasters... I spent Friday at Cedar Point speeding down 300-400 foot hills and flipping upside down and around and loved every minute of it. I hope you get to go and soon!! I hate that I can feel summer ending <3shelby

ReplyDeleteI love the print on your dress. It's been raining terribly around me.
ReplyDeleteWent to Lake Compounce a few weeks ago with my family. Unfortunately I didn't take good pictures so I couldn't blog about it. Can't do roller coasters or any rides for that matter. I went there for the water rides.
ReplyDeleteI love this dress every time you wear it!
ReplyDeleteAnd it's sad to think that we're running out of summer days. I'm looking forward to fall, but I do always miss summer.

Ahh I love that dress, you need to wear it more often! Nice styling with the neutrals. You'd definitely fit right into a yacht club brunch... if you were ever thinking of crashing one of those (you should! they owe you for all the random comments).
ReplyDeleteThe light rain nonsense has been driving me crazy, why can't we just finish out the summer in warm sunny glory?
ReplyDeleteI have the same dress! (here: http://www.style-edition.com/style-edition-blog/2011/7/18/quick-necklace-update.html )
