Friday in NYC with Delayed Missives

This weekend I had a chance to meet one of my favorite bloggers, Alex of Delayed Missives. Friday morning was truly cold and I freaked out and over dressed. By the time I got to New York it had warmed up a bit and I ditched the tights I was wearing, and then the blazer. I should have nixed the closed toed shoes as well, because my poor toes got so bruised.  
(Note, if you haven't worn a closed shoe since April, ease into it, rather than wearing them walking all day.)

Since I'd never been to Central Park before, that was our first stop. This bridge had a bunch of people on it, but once we both took out our big cameras, we managed to scare them all away.

I loved taking my wide angle lens to New York - if there was ever a city it was meant for, it would have to be New York.

We had lunch in Central Park, then went to the East Village for some vintage shopping and coffee. I went to Buffalo Exchange for the very first time - and did come home with a nice find. Since we were in Nnenna's neighborhood, she joined us for dinner.

Then we indulged in some yummy Italian pastries and cookies from Alex's favorite bakery.

I love how dogs are allowed to come in all the shops in New York, I was especially smitten with this cutie in Urban Outfitters.

I loved seeing parts of the city I'd never been to, or simply hadn't seen in a very long time. Though I've been to New York before, it's easy to get stuck in the Touristy areas; it's so much better to have someone who knows the city to be the guide. More tomorrow!

    Great pictures! I especially love the shots on the bridge! Though I can't believe you've been to NYC before, but never Central Park! (I can't talk, since I've never been, but I assumed that was a mandatory stop on trips there).

    That's so fun that you got to visit NYC! I've always wanted to go there, but since I live on the west coast it would take a lot more prep and a lot more money than for those of you lucky people who live just a few states away :)
