In the way that strawberry shortcake signifies the beginning of summer, peach shortcake means it is coming to an end.
Sometimes I wonder if I will ever decide to leave New England in favor of a location that stays warmer longer; a place where the heat wont quit and I can be the summer lover that I am for months on end.
But I know that people who live in such places get used to the heat, and then 70° becomes the new 50° and somehow I might end up right back where I am. And I'll still be shedding tears over the September sun setting so darn early and the nights being so cold.

there you are you pretty girl! I'm quite the opposite as you, I'll take cold weather any day, cute shoes!
ReplyDeleteSuch a perfect ode to summer! It is bittersweet with the shorter days as fall arrives.

Such a great post! I feel the same way when the cooler air comes around. I love your vest and the belt. It is pretty outfits like these that make the coming of fall worth it though. Pretty!
ReplyDeletei love your outfit! the weather here has been so blah... :-/

I love the look of the long vest with the jean shorts - you may have inspired my next outfit!
ReplyDeleteI'm mourning the inevitable loss of summer, too. It's still in the 90's here in Portland, but I know the heat is going to disappear soon (and so are all the summer fruits).
It's funny, this year was the first time I experienced humidity at it's worse... and an extended over 100F I could not take it, I love summer so much, perhaps I just love milder summers, lol. But, mostly I love cold weather! Looking forward to the autumn climate.
ReplyDeleteLove your bag, dear! xo
We live in a place where it stays hot from murch until november, and believe me it is boring sunny all the time.
ReplyDeleteYou look grand as ever.

ReplyDeleteYou might not appreciate Summer as much if you had it all the time :-)
This outfit is the epitamy of summer cool.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I complain about the hot weather (and I know I whine a lot!), I don't think I could bear to live anywhere that stays cold for long. Our 1-2 days of real winter is good enough for me!
A perfect way to end the summer with peach cobbler! Love the vest with the denim shorts :)
ReplyDeleteI love those shoes!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I'd want to move somewhere else, I like having our four seasons and it getting freezing in the winter and burning hot in the summer, hehe :D

That's why I love Virginia- the weather is pretty mild. Nothing too hot or cold.
ReplyDeleteMmmm, peaches! Peach cobbler with cream is amazing. Definitely a Fall dish!
Cute outfit, you look amazing!

I love the outfit...
ReplyDeleteLast night I decided to apply for a teaching job in Anchorage, Alaska....I seriously can't stand the heat and I'm actually a bit unnaturally excited at the chance to work in Alaska. Scary, no?

I know what you mean. Every winter all I can think about it moving to a sunnier/warmer place. The grass is always greener :)
ReplyDeleteLove your wedges babe! You look fantastic! xx
ReplyDeleteYou should head west for a little trip and see what you think. I recommend, oh, late January or anytime in February or March. You will go home, toss all your light clothing into 1 or 2 suitcases and flee the scene.
ReplyDeleteYou've captured my thoughts on late summer/early fall just perfectly.

your fellow endless summer lover
I love this whole outfit. But those shoes and that hat are amazing.

this
outfit
is fabulous !
Think it's one of my faves :)
Ooh, I love the manly details of this outfit!
ReplyDeleteThat peach shortcake looks delish! I'm hanging onto summer outfits until its too cold. love fall, but I LOVE summer.
ReplyDeleteYour outfit looks so comfortable. I live in one of those places where summer lasts too long, and I really wish it would end. It's September and we are still seeing the triple digits every day. But the 70s being the 50s thing is pretty true here, though we have 0% humidity, so that might be a key factor in it feeling cooler than it is.
ReplyDeleteYum! Looks delicious and I loveyour hat and layer with the vest:)

Love these photos almost as much as I love peach pie!
ReplyDeleteI get sad for summer's end too...but fall kind of makes up for it!
Your shoes are HOT. I love them. They look like they would go with anything and everything.

I am glad I am not the only one who wonders if I should move out of Chicago...I'd love a place that is warm year round! Enjoy the last few days to stroll around in those shorts..... :D
ReplyDeleteMmm, that peach shortcake looks amazing. Why didn't I buy any peaches this week? I'm regretting that decision! I've always wanted to move somewhere warmer, but you're right, it would probably get old after a while and I'd become even more of a weenie about cold weather.
ReplyDeleteThe days are getting shorter. Makes me sad :( Sometimes I think I actually have SADD and should get one of those special lights to perk me up. I need to get my shorts and sandal wearing in.
ReplyDeleteI am so ready for it to be 70 in New York. With all the pavement, cars and light reflecting off the buildings it's always like 25 more degrees than is actually forecast and the last truly comfortable temperature for walking about a mile is 75.
I love the summer! All I know if this winter is as bad as last one then I am totally considering moving somewhere warmer...
ReplyDeleteGreat look. I am loving your leopard belt!
