Layered up

Do you ever buy a piece and think "Oh my god, this would be so cool to wear with OTHER THING IN MY CLOSET!" and then not actually wear the two things together for like a year?

No, just me?

Well, this is one such outfit. I thought the open knit of the sweater would look so awesome over the print of this dress, and tried it out when I brought the sweater home last fall. But this is the first time they were ever together out in public.

Worth the wait, or just a wash?

    I tried to do that today, I wanted to wear my new purple button down with my bright red sweater...but it looked HORRIBLE so I had to go for Plan B...I was very sad XD

    Um, I do that too. Or I will think of the perfect outfit in my head and then not get around to wearing it forever. I def do not think this is a wash--definite win! I love this sweater. It is so subtly sexy. And I love the print of the dress and how it just baaaaarely shows through the sweater. Well done.

    I don't think it's a wash at all! I like the combo of knit and print and the way the print shows through just a bit is quite neat. And it's a great fall color palette.

    Ha, I do the same thing, but usually it turns out to be for the best, as the two items won't have paired well in reality anyway! Looks like you didn't have such troubles, though. I *love* this top and dress together. Great silhouette.

    I do that too! It's like I think that once I've worn that outfit I can't wear it again so I save it until a day when I'm stuck but it never comes!!

    That outfit totally work for you...love how you can subtly see the pattern of the dress. I bought a vest this afternoon just on the fact that I want to wear it over a leopard shirt on Saturday!

    I love the close-up shot of your outfit. The black open-weave with the print in the back creates a stained glass effect. Love the necklace too! Perfect styling!
