Not even just a little snow, a few flakes that melt the second they hit the ground... no it was a legitimate snowstorm. And my Aunt was having a tent wedding.
Putting aside the fact that I've been grumpy as it is about losing summer to fall, getting a nor'easter in October seems like an especially cruel joke. Mother Nature's way of spiting me after I resolved to not wear tights until November.
I would like it to be noted that I did not wear tights in the snow storm.

Even with the snow, it seemed like the only part of the wedding that was going to be affected was that we weren't going to get to take photos outside (my brother and I were the photographers), that is until the storm caused the power to go out.Things were a little tricky from there, because the backup generator didn't really have enough power to keep the heat and lights and audio equipment all on at once... more than a few fuses were blown and we kept our coats on all night.
But I still had a really awesome time, the food and the cake were phenomenal, and I could not be happier for my Aunt!
Glad the wedding was beautiful despite of the snow....I love your outfit, you look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteNow that will be a wedding to remember! Glad everything worked out in the end. You look great!
ReplyDeleteI agree- the storm was a cruel joke! I just holed up in my apartment until it passed over. Congratulations to your aunt and glad that her wedding wasn't ruined by the snow!

Okay, I'm sad too that summer is over, but I'm also kind of jealous that you got snow! I guess I just like extreme weather - boiling hot or freezing cold with snow :)
ReplyDeleteWell at least its a wedding they will never forget ;) Luckily we didn't lose power during the storm, that would've been bad because I was home alone, I wouldve freaked out
ReplyDeleteAnd woohoo for braving the cold with no tights, sadly I broke down early because I get cold fast XDXD

Altough snow is beautiful backdrop, it must have been frustrating to lose the power... Exciting wedding! :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, no tights in a snowsorm? You should get a medal! :)
I saw the snow in the Spanish news and I couldn´t believe it.
ReplyDeleteMagic photos.

Although it must have been cold, the wedding looks so beautiful. Especially the photo with your aunt coming in from outside the tent, with the snow in the backdrop. So romantic. Looks like you had a great time, and your coat is gorgeous!

Looks like a beautiful wedding, snow and all! And I thought our 40-50 degree weather the past couple days was cold...
ReplyDeleteWedding looks gorgeous...snow looks gorgeous...and YOU look gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteLOL I just love how you are rejecting all aspects of the weather's want to be winter. You go girl. Keep resisting. xD Come November, you'll probably need to wear some tights though. Get warm awe yeah.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad everything still worked out though! It will probably make for an interesting story in the future. :') lovely lovely pictuuures!
I'm sorry to hear about the weather... hopefully it will all melt away soon! I'm glad it didn't keep you from having fun in the wedding. You look great!

I was on a flight home from Fort Worth when the snow hit and got routed to Pittsburgh to spend the night there and then 6 hours in the airport trying to get home. Ugh. I'm so glad that wedding worked even with the snow (there's something sort of romantic and lovely about a snowy wedding) - and you looked so lovely. That jacket was a great touch!

That bouquet is amazing! I can't believe how much it snowed for you guys! But at least you got to show off that gorgeous coat!
ReplyDeleteOk, no tights? You are officially crazy!! It's a shame that the storm had to interfere with your aunt's wedding, but I think that it will make for a great memory. I especially love the picture of them making their entrance into the tent with the snowy background - it looks very magical!
ReplyDeleteWhen I read your tweet i thought "oh a little snow" but yikes this was A LOT. I am going to have to go back and repack. Repack with heavier clothing.
ReplyDeleteBTW you look fabulous, i love that Zara coat.
That is a gorgeous coat. I'm glad the wedding went well, in spite of the snow.
ReplyDeleteWhoaaa... you really got hit. Accumulation here was practically nothing, and I also did not wear tights during the storm. I barely went out though. You look great! I love the coat.
ReplyDeleteIf I was ever to marry I'd want it to be in the snow. I'd even run around outside in it for photos.

ReplyDeleteLooks like the wedding turned out beautiful no matter the weather! Love the fur collar on your coat!

Snow?! I'm not ready- I hope it doesn't come my way yet! I actually think the snow adds a beautiful touch to the wedding- your Aunt's dress (and the cake) is stunning! You look beautiful- I love your coat!
ReplyDeleteWow, you weren't kidding! Boy did it snow! You and your aunt both look gorgeous, and how awesome that you were the photographer. I hope warmer weather is headed your way!
ReplyDeleteHuge bummer about the snow and the complications it caused on your aunt's big day. These wedding images are lovely though. You and your brother did a great job!
ReplyDeleteSnow in Fall? That's not fair. However perhaps some wedding snaps were prettier because of it?
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine having to do an outdoor wedding in that snowstorm--I was barely able to get home that day, myself! You look great, though, and the wedding looks like it turned out beautifully anyway.
ReplyDeleteKudos for not wearing tights! My family and I are in CT, too, and mom had to break her "open toed shoes 'til November!" rule over the weekend :(
ReplyDeleteI love your coat!! And her entrance into the tent is awesome :)
ReplyDeleteWow! That is some serious snow! Looks like a beautiful wedding and what a good story for the years to come!
ReplyDeletei really love your coat..this is the perfect formal cold weather outfit!
