2011 in fashion and photos

I can't hardly believe another year is gone... and even though we must keep moving forward, here is a little look back on 2011...

 

I discovered Hipstamatic.

I bought new shoes.

I co-hosted a bridal shower.

I got another year older.

My Brother got married!

I got to meet four wonderful Connecticut Bloggers, Amber, Nnenna, Courtney and Megan.

I discovered Instagram!

Tropical storm Irene brought flooding, downed trees and left me without power for a week!

I met Alex in New York and went to Central Park for the first time.

 

I bought a new wide angle lens and took it out for a spin.

I zipped around Washington D.C. on a Segway.

And I went back to NYC for a Be the Buyer Event at TJ Maxx!

November had some pretty nice sunsets and (aside from that one small nor'easter) stayed warm enough to not wear tights the whole month.

I got a new camera!

And that's a wrap!

I hope you all have a happy and safe New Years Eve!

I will probably be on my couch watching Midnight in Pairs and nodding off before midnight, becuase I'm practically 26 86 years old, and that's how I roll.

Black and White

Black and white photos and it's not even Black and White Week? What madness!

Honestly I was just playing around with some of the Lightroom presets and thought this split tone process worked well with these photos.

The sweater is black and white and the jeans are a 'natural' hue, so you aren't missing out on anything, promise.

Low-key Christmas

This is what I wore on Christmas day. I would have preferred to just spend the day on the couch, but I did have to get dressed by three for dinner, so I made my best effort with jeans and my secondhand altered lace top.

My mom gifted me the new chunky chain link bracelet, which you are bound to be seeing a lot more of, even though it's cold now and nothing is worse than the feeling of ice cold metal on your wrist.
Oh the sacrifices we make for fashion.

Happy Christmas

I hope everyone had wonderful holidays, and enjoyed a relaxing day off today. I'm in full on sloth mode, all I want to do is eat cookies and watch Christmas movies... it does not seem like I should be back at work on Tuesday!

My family does the big Italian Christmas Eve, and I like to glitz it up, so I got this slinky chevron sequined cocktail dress at TJ Maxx for $13.

I also got a new pair of dot tights and then immediately got a run in them. Which is what happened to the first two pairs of dot tights I bought on the first day I wore them, so clearly the universe does not want me to wear swiss dots on my legs.

It was great to see all of my family, and get stuffed on tons of wonderful food, and of course get presents! There were some great things under my tree this year!
