I'm definitely going to miss it, and it's theme song, Cake's Short Skirt/Long Jacket.
I've had this maxi coat for quite some time now, I got it my freshman year of high school, and in all honesty, it was because it made me feel awesome, like Carrie-Anne Moss in the Matirx. I haven't worn it in several years... I don't think maxies are back in yet, but I had my heart set on doing a Chuck inspired outfit, and my other option was just wearing my converse sneakers. The coat was more fun.
I also turned my chunky chain bracelet into an impromptu necklace - which actually worked pretty well.
I hope you all have a great last weekend of January! (Seriously, where did the month go?)

I've been tempted from time to time about buying a long coat at the thrift store but didn't quite know what to do with it. I didn't want to seem to Melanie Griffith "Working Girl" ya know? I hope they do come back. I really like them - and the warmth factor!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo for maxi coats!! I don't have one, haha....but I feel like they wouldn't look good on me :/

ReplyDeleteI love Chuck so much, and I'm so sad it's ending! They haven't been putting this last season on Hulu, so I haven't been able to watch it - I guess I'll just have to buy it when it comes out on DVD :)
ReplyDeleteFor the longest time I've been wanting to put together an outfit based on that Cake song! Love that you did it.

Maxi coats are TOTALLY in. They were all over the runways for winter 2012. I have not ever seen "Chuck" but it's sad when good shows end.

Oooh look how sexy that first photo is! Love the lighting in these photos, so flattering!
ReplyDeleteEven if they're not in style... I think long coats are cool! I don't have any though, three-quarter is my longest, I think. I've only caught episodes of Chuck here and there. I feel like I've been meaning to watch it for the past five years (oops).

ReplyDeleteWhew. That was a workout. Now to post my comment. :'D
GURL.
You know how to rock a long trenchcoat. They may not seem "back in" yet, as you say, I think it looks damn nice on you. Such a lovely coat that is, and the red from your gloves makes it all the more classy!
You still have clothes from your freshman year of high school? That's amazing. Props to you. I'm pretty sure most of mine are gone. Maybe because I had no boobs then. I mean, I still don't have boobs, but they were like concave or something then, I don't know. Stuff was small, bro. I'm envious that you are able to hold onto something that long!
Just found your blog and I love it--I'm now following on bloglovin.
