Also, reasonably tight sweaters don't just slide over chambray, I had to pull it on and position it, bit by bit... a saner person would have just given up.
With a weather forecast promising near 60's for this week, hopefully my layering days are numbered.

ReplyDeleteLove the yellow pairing with the leopard print. Great style! If you get a sec, I'd love if you'd check out my blog =)

The look is worth the struggle with the sweater. The leopard gloves look pretty wonderful with the red coat.
ReplyDeleteThat sweater needs to get on my body. Love the look, Lyddie! So casual and chic.

lol...but it was definitely worth all the effort. Turned out beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat leopard jumper is gorgeous and it looks stunning paired with the mustard
ReplyDeleteLOVE the layering!! I tried to layer a sweater over a button down last week but the sweater was too loose in some places and tight in others so I gave up, haha

It looks pretty effortless to me! You would have tricked us all if you hadn't given the narrative!
ReplyDeleteI read, on somebody's blog, a trick for layering a shirt under a sweater: first, layer it all together OFF your body and then pull the two pieces, together, over your head. I'm not sure how easy it is to then button the shirt underneath, but it's worth a try!
Great job with the layering, I love denim on denim and even more when leopard is involved!

Love your layering! I know, sometimes it's really hard to put on certain layers. Sometimees I spend up to 20 minutes trying to get it to look alright... haha.

You totally pulled it off! Love the untucked shirt tail.

I think you did an awesome job! It looks effortless to me!
ReplyDeleteYour layers are fantastic! Love the splashes of yellow!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful look:)

Ahhh, you have me kicking myself for not buying the chambray shirt I had in my hands the other day. Great layering!
ReplyDeleteI always look so weird and frumpy when I try to layer like this but I just love it on you!
ReplyDeleteCourtney ~ http://sartorialsidelines.com
LOL, yes layering without looking bulky is always a feat! You look great, though!

Verry nice blog and outfit! I love the Leopard Jumper!
ReplyDeletei love this look, but i can definitely understand the work/frustration that goes into layering...that's why i've just decided that unless it's a thin slinky blouse, i can't wear it under a sweater. you look great, and not lumpy at all!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right- layering is not as effortless as they make it seem! But I think you persevered here and you look really cute :)
ReplyDeleteWell worth the effort... looks fantastic! REALLY love the yellow shoes. Orangies Attic
ReplyDeleteYeah, when I think chambray having layers I think bulky, too... and yet you look perfectly smooth and totally not bulky here. Awesome! And you put such an awesome pattern over it, too.
ReplyDeleteHere's to hoping that it warms up for you!
love love love
ReplyDeletegetting those arms in is sometimes quite a feat!
always worth it though
brett
I love that leopard sweater!
ReplyDeleteI love the effect. You wear animal prints so effortlessly, they look great on you.
ReplyDeleteI get fooled by the J.Crew Mags sometimes too. The bulkiness seems so much worse in person.
love your leopard sweater, such a great fit and ideal pairing with the chambray.

Maybe at pro photo shoots they cut away the majority of the shirt just showing the cuffs and collars so it still looks streamlined?
ReplyDeleteI think you nailed the layering look. I sure hope you are right and the need for layers will soon just be a distant memory.
ReplyDeleteI really love the leopard sweater.
ReplyDeleteI think you nailed it. You look as effortless and easy as the J. Crew models. I love this look.
ReplyDeleteYou got it !
ReplyDelete"chambray layering done simple" - or at least you made it lOOK simple :)
Nice job !
OH BTW I Finally got the starfish cuff :)
Denim and leopard...your chic perfection!
ReplyDeleteYeah, they make it look easy and they could layer five things on top of three things and the model still looks like she's wearing thin layers. Maybe they cut all the under fabric off. hmmmm. Trickery.
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic in this. I think you nailed this layered look. Love it.
xo,
Tracy
I hate it when I find cute layering inspiration from places like J. Crew, and then try it myself and end up looking all lumpy! Your layering, however, looks very nice :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I love the location where you shot these photos!
love the sweater, doll. Enjoy this week! The weather will be perfect!
ReplyDeleteIn love with that leopard sweater, I want!
ReplyDeleteIt was worth the effort!
ReplyDeleteEven if your layering too a while, it looks effortless!
ReplyDeleteadore the touches of mustard!
ReplyDeleteIt may not have been easy in reality, but this looks effortlessly layered! Especially the half tuck with the blouse, I love it!
ReplyDeleteI think the layering looks great! I also love the pops of yellow with your shoes and bag.
ReplyDeleteThe layering definitely works! All this chambray is tempting me to get a chambray shirt!

huge fan of leopard print!
ReplyDeletehave similar gloves :)

Well all your primping and yanking on the shirts payed off- what a great layered look! I love the patterb mixing and those leopard print gloves are adorable!
ReplyDeleteAgain with the cute red coat and yellow accessories! You could wear this combo everyday - it's so great! And I hope warmer weather comes your way. It's been in the 50's-60's here all week, which has been awesome.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely pulled off the effortless layering you were wanting with this ensemble (even if it was a struggle)! Haha, I agree with you though, I always have these ideas of cool outfits in my mind, and when I put them on I think...oook this may not have been made for my body type, or the fabric I'm wearing. I love love LOVE the bag you paired with this-adds a little graphic interest- so chic!
ReplyDeleteabsolutely in love with this look!!!!
ReplyDeletehttp://laurenlanzaosias.blogspot.com
I can't do J.Crew layering at all... more than a shell and a light sweater and I quickly become the Michelin man. I've always wondered how they get five shirts on those models and manage to make it look good... Photoshop? I think they should put you in the J.Crew catalogue instead.
ReplyDeleteIt was worth all the annoyance of putting it on ... super, super look.
ReplyDeleteI was a bit iffy about chambray and animal print together but your look is fabulous!
LOL...you're funny.
ReplyDeleteThe art of looking like you're a walking editorial. Sigh.

I'm always amazed by JCrew's layering also... But even when I buy the same exact outfit, I can never pull it off, it's like they have some kind of magical layering skill. You, however look fabulous in this outfit. Very chic and JCrew-like and not at all lumpy or frumpy. The pops of yellow and red are brilliant... Love the look! <3shelby
