Midi

There are a lot of things I love about this dress; the color, the print, the fabric that won't wrinkle on matter how much you try. But the length, is where my praise stops.

I do not consider the midi trend to work for me, anything hitting me just below the knee is too long. However the material made me reluctant to hem it, and so in the past I've always gotten creative with safety pins and belts.

But I wanted to try it at it's natural lenght. So I put on my highest heels and went with it.

    Love the dress. It looks great on you. I agree that midi length is not always the most flattering length..but there are always exceptions and I think this dress is one of them. I think everything about it look lovely.

    I think the dress totally works on you at this length :) I'm afraid of this length too, but I actually have an outfit post coming up later this week with a skirt of a similar length...I think it ended up looking somewhat better than I thought!

    Oh, that dress is gorgeous! I think most women have the same problem with midi dresses - they look great on other people, but when I put one on all I notice is how gigantic it makes my calves look. Still, I think it looks great on you!

    From here, that dress looks pretty darned breath-taking at any length :)

    It's hard to tell how tall peeps are from their blog pics, but if you're suggesting that shorter women can be midi-challenged, you are correct. I find that I need heels for midis and maxis to compensate for being so low to the ground :P

    The longer length works well with this dress, but I agree, it is specific to different items.Sometimes if I wear a below the knee dress I feel too matronly.

    These photos are beautiful! I love the dress, but it's definitely true that the midi length is not the best for petites. I wouldn't style it with flats, but I think it definitely works with heels!

    I know what you mean. I have several dresses that fit me just under the knee and they always make me feel short, stumpy, and frumpy. You however look fantastic in this dress! I think you can rock just about anything really ;)

    I'm with you - I don't love the length of midi dresses. I think they cut off the legs and for someone like me, with long legs, it really makes me look stumpy!
