I'm pretty miffed that these broke, I only got them last summer and they were $70, which as far as I'm concerned, is pretty damn expensive. I've definitely been trying to get my cost per wear down, but I guess now I'll have to add on another 10 wears to compensate for the $10 it cost to get the shoe fixed...

I know this is silly but I seriously loved the knotted belt!
ReplyDeleteI always go weak in the knee with a floaty dress.
ReplyDeleteYou look so stunning.

I am so in love with that dress!!! And how annoying that your shoes broke!! I agree $70 is a LOT for shoes....
ReplyDeletehttp://www.closet-fashionista.com/
So pretty!
ReplyDeleteAnd the news about your sandals is super crappy. $70 shoes shouldn't break unless you happen to wear them every single day for the year. Boo hiss to the company.
Noooo! $70 sandals breaking?! That's silly. I'm so sorry that happened. You think for that price they'd hold up for a lot lot longer... D: !
ReplyDeleteAh well. You had some good times with those sandals. :( And they look fabulous with this printed dress. Hopefully you'll find a replacement!
I hate when that happens. Not too long ago...s spaghetti strap broke on my dress while shopping and I had to walk to from the back of the store to the front holding my top up...felt to awkward.
ReplyDeleteYou dress is just adorable. I love the print and the colors.
My son bougth a pair of boat shoes from ASOS with hsi hard earned part-time job cash. Within one day the leather lace had snapped. I was furious so I know how you feel.
ReplyDeleteYour waist looks tiny with the belt.
Such a pretty dress, love the print. You look so cute.

That is SO frustrating when a supposedly "high quality" item breaks or rips! I hope you can get them good as new again! And that dress... I can't get over how pretty that dress is!
ReplyDeleteThat stinks that they broke! And such crappy timing...

Awwwwwwwwww!!!! Hate that! And something you wouldn't expect from expensive shoes like that! Glad you got them fixed though and now have more reasons to wear them. This dress is gorgeous on you Lydia!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are really, really nice. Not that your photos aren't always really nice, but there's just something about the light, the beach, and the railing behind you... you know what I'm talking about. Really excellent composition. And this outfit is pretty much just summer.
ReplyDeleteTerrible that the sandals broke, but I'm glad they were fixable. I refuse to have any shoe repairs done in New York because it's too expensive. $15 just to stretch them!
gorgeousss dress :)

love this summery dress and bummer about the shoes. PS I've never heard anyone call getting angry "miffed" before. Totally stealing that word.
ReplyDeleteI just had an incident like that a few days back, but fortunately I could feel it breaking while I was in a store, and I grabbed the very first pair that I spotted in the store! Darn!! BTW, this dress is beautiful!! Can't believe it is from J C Penny!!!!!! Its been ages that I haven't been to J C Penny and now I surely have visit it!

Sorry the sandals broke, but at least you were able to get them fixed so that $70 that you spent on them is still OK. In love with your ikat dress from JC Penney, btw.
ReplyDeleteYour ikat dress is great! And that sucks about the sandals
ReplyDeletethis print and cut of dress is fantastic ... looks wonderful on you!!

At least you looked super cute even though your sandal broke! Okay, maybe that's not much consolation :) At least you can get it fixed.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is just amazing. I love what the wind is doing to it in these photos!
I hate having shoe malfunctions! Glad it could be repaired as the shoes look great with this beautiful dress.

I'm all about the cost per wear -- if you love them and wear them a lot, it's so worth it. And that dress is absolutely to DIE for.

I saw your tweet about the sandals, it definitely sucks! Though, you were wearing this amazing pretty ikat dress that I LOVE love love so at least you were looking fabulous on broken heels :) xo Nikki
ReplyDeletelove your summer look1
ReplyDeleteI agree that $70 is a lot for a pair of sandals, and the purchaser SHOULD expect them to hold up extremely well.
ReplyDeleteI'm following your budgeting closely - not from a nagging standpoint - but a learning standpoint. When I release my self-imposed shopping ban, I want to set a clothing budget and find a way to account for it, maybe similar to what you are doing in your side bar.
You look so great in these easy stylish dresses.
what an amazing dress!love it :)

Damn those shoes!Glad you could get it fixed. Lovely dress.
ReplyDeletethat is annoying! i bought a pair of wedge booties in norway for like 100 francs....and they broke like the 3 time i wore them. had to have them fixed...but still a disappointment!
ReplyDeleteI love how you styled this dress. Perfect summer look. What a bummer about your shoes, I would be miffed too.

ReplyDeleteLove all of the bangles. I'm a HUGE fan of arm candy right now. The dress is gorgeous, too.

In love with the look! The belt adds so much definition and ties your outfit together! Great job! Sorry about the sandals :(! I got a similar experience a few years back with a pair of boots, I was at work and one heel broke off completely! I limped my way to payless to buy a pair of flats! It was horrible!
ReplyDeletewww.stilettosorpajamas.com
This dress has beautiful colors and the belt is the right amount of chunkiness.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your shoes. Nothing is worse than expensive things breaking. Especially shoes.
Oh woooow! You look amazing, girl!! *_* This a really wonderfull dress!! Great style <3
