On Tuesday I took the train into the city and met up with Meg, my roomie. After checking into the hotel and snapping some photos of our day looks we got ready for the cocktail party that was sponsored by Aloxxi.
Aloxxi is a line of professional hair color and care products brought to you by George Schaeffer aka the creator of OPI Nail Color. There were two stylists at the event and after consulting with them and deciding your new hair color, miss Lauren Friedman of my closet in sketches (she also does the illustrating for 'Dear Lucky') sketched you in your new color.
As to be expected, the names of the Aloxxi hair color line are just as catchy as what you'd find on the bottom of any bottle of OPI - with color names inspired by Italy, it was a tough choice between 'seduction on the grand canal' and 'intrigue on the spanish steps'. Eventually the stylist I was talking with, David Crandall and I decided on 'espresso yourself'.
Truth be told, I've never colored my hair, but if I did, I'd probably look to Aloxxi to 'espresso myself', if for no other reason than the fun names.
I had a really fun time at the party, I met a few new bloggers, Lucy of Daily Disguise, Courtney of Girl Avant Garde and Sam of Style of Sam. I definitely prefer smaller more intimate settings; at the FABB conference itself I wasn't really able to connect with too many individuals.
And the party also had some amazing passed appetizers and a wickedly good mojito.
It was a fun night.

ReplyDeleteCheck out that sleek outfit transition... that skirt really does steal the night (is that a phrase? steal the night? steal... something... you know what I'm trying to say, hopefully). It's very stellar and reminds me of the night sky, or perhaps the city lights at dusk. Love it! And glad that you had a more than awesome time.
ReplyDeleteI think it'd be an awesome job to just be able to name nail polishes. They're like tiny pieces of poetry, aren't they?
All of your outfits were perfect! (as usual) You never disappoint!
