The Cloudburst on clearance

It's a pretty frequent occurrence that I see something on another blogger and then immediately want it for myself.
When I first saw Dotty wearing this very dress, I told her I thought it was "divinely adorable" and I meant it.

When I was perusing the clearance racks at TJ Maxx the other week and I spotted that cloudbust print, I snatched it from the hanger, saw the $25 clearance sticker and did a a little happy dance.

Then I noticed it had an ink stain about two inches long, undoubtedly courtesy of a ball point pen, and was sad again.

I brought the dress up to the register to inquire about perhaps a greater discount due to the stain and was told that I could try to get it out, and if I couldn't, I could just return it.

I went home and attacked the stain with dish soap and q-tips, and everything came out!

Because I was so excited and happy about my wonderful TJ Maxx score, I submitted it to their weekly facebook contest. But everyone seems to think Sam Edelman shoes and Anne Klein dresses are better, because I'm in last place.
That's okay. I know that my $198 dress for 87% off was an amazing deal.

    Yay, thank goodness the stain came out! And I'm very surprised they didn't give you another discount--most stores do if something like that happens. Oh well, you came home with an awesome dress!!

    Our TJMaxx is a freaking hot mess everytime I go in there. I never can find anything because everything is laying on the floor. I wish I had good luck at ours, because you always find the greatest things there. Heather

    Q-tips and soap and lots of scrubbing is the secret to getting stains out, eh?? I've had a few times when I've come across something cute at Ross or TJ Maxx with a big ole stain on it, but I guess next time I shouldn't let that sway me from buying it... hmm! I'm glad you got that stain out, though, because holy crap this dress really is cute. I adore the pattern and this all grey ensembe on you... and the pops of turquoise are just ever so lovely!

    Wow, that's amazing! I'm terrified of getting pen, marker, etc. on my clothes. If it happens, I'll try your method.
