Isn't that terrible? I am not a fan of low-light photos, I feel like no amount of post processing can make them look as pretty as those taken while the sun is still high enough in the sky.
The shorter days are still a challenge, even with my years of experience and careful planning.
I started seeing everyone taking out their fur vests, and decided it was about time to get mine out.
Nautical, meet Furry Vest.
I think they get along quite well.

Ugh, I know what you mean! I hate having it be 5pm and realize it is too dark out and I have missed that day of photos.
ReplyDeleteThat jacket is lovely, and the jewelry and the purse, basically I love it all.
You know fall/winter has officially arrived when everyone starts bustin' out the fur vests, lol. I love it with the stripes and white denim. Heather
ReplyDeleteyes, beating the light is definitely a challenge now that it is basically pitch black at 5PM. regardless, i am LOVING the striped shirt with the neutral tan vest - such a fun combo

Edmonton winter has hit which means I'll probably be doing indoor photos for the next 4 months, so don't even get me started on lighting problems! I also really think I need to get a fur vest to make it through the winter...

Yes, the long days of summer could stick around and I'd be okay with that. The early darkness makes me want to go to bed...at 6:00. Anyway, I love the furry vest paired with nautical stripes, this is a combo that definitely works!
ReplyDeleteI really love the nautical look with this and the boots help to book end the vest... Great job!
ReplyDeletethey are still great photos but I feel you. Whats worse is when I dress up for a night out and realize what a missed photo op it is. Most bloggers dont get to see my nighttime looks becuase of this! BTW, the fur vest is amazing. I was just reading in one of my magazines about what a hot staple they are this year.

I love how you "autumnized/winterized" a typically summer outfit!!
ReplyDeleteAlex and I have been trying to figure out a time to take outfit pics- we thought briefly about meeting in the morning before work, but then we were like "ha!" I think it might have to be weekends for us!
ReplyDeleteI agree, nautical and furry vest get along quite well! With how dark it has been these past few weeks, I can't believe that we're still a few weeks from the winter solstice.
ReplyDeleteokay, even though this may have been a result of your editing, the pink hue/light in these photos is pretty awesome!
ReplyDeleteYay for fur vests! I wore mine yesterday too. I love this look with the stripes Lydia. Can I copy it? ;-) Also this no light stuff really does suck--it's not just you. Ugh. Is it summer yet?
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! I have to find some time in the day to take decent shots!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the vest!

I love your outfit. The stripes with the fur vest is something I would have never thought of but it looks so good together.

I love that fur vest! I've been looking for one everywhere but its hard finding on that fits good on me.

Ok, the furry vest with the spiky bracelets is just an awesome mix, I love the difference of textures between the soft and tough. The light going so fast at night is awful! Our sun is starting to set about 2:30 in the afternoon, I miss the 24 sunlight of the summer. :P
ReplyDelete(Also love the vest with the striped shirt, I hadn't thought of that mix, but it looks really polished.)
Lovely look, I adore that vest
ReplyDeleteHave been looking for one forever and yours is perfectt
Loving the stripes, fur and arm full of bangles...So chic!
ReplyDeleteI dislike the winter days too. 4:30 is just too early for darkness.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful vest. Looks both chic and cozy.
i feel the same way about low light. no matter how much time i spend editing them they always turn out like crap. we seriously need to stop messing with time
ReplyDeleteI love this look. The fur is just perfect with the striped shirt and white jeans. You look so chic!
ReplyDeleteYes!!! I am not fond of it getting so dark at an early time. Daylight savings kind of sucks. I do like the weather though. The furry vest definitely goes with the stripes!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, I always get upstet when there isn't enough light to take my outfit photos. I'm really impressed at how good yours turned out though! Loving the outfit btw. I would have never thought of mixing nautical and fur, but you make it work so well!

The vest is so cute over the stripes!
ReplyDeleteI love the furry vests.. wish I could wear them.. I look like a Saskwatch wearing them.... I and totally hear you about the light situation.. I try to get my photos during my lunch break but not always very successful!!

I've been doing photos before work, since it is usually dark when I leave now. That vest looks nice and warm.
ReplyDeleteI keep seeing fur vests too and thinking I've got to do something with mine. Nautical + fur = total winter boat party attire. Or maybe beach bonfire-- do you have any of those to attend?
ReplyDeleteLove your fur vest and the bracelets, Lydia! I know, its quite a challenge these days to shoot as the day is getting shorter and shorter! I'm trying to do mine in the morning, before work, but that calls for dealing with even lower temperature! Tough times are ahead!

Yeah this time change is pretty much my least favorite thing ever. It's pitch black when I get out of work and that just bums me out.
ReplyDeleteI do, however, love the mix of fur and nautical that you're wearing! But then again, is there really anything that doesn't go with stripes??
They do look quite lovely together! And yes, I hate this photo taking problem! But even in Summer I wouldn't be home in time to take pictures, ha ha...oh wells
ReplyDeleteThat bag is really working for you, 3 posts in a row ;) Such a perfect color

This time of year is so frustrating for taking outfit photos - it's next to impossible to document what you wear on a daily basis because no one wants to take early morning photos and by the time the day is done, it's dark! But I think these photos turned out really well, and furry plus nautical is match made in heaven as far as I'm concerned :)

Yes, the fall/winter days are always a pain to work with. you still managed to take great pictures though. Lovely outfit!
ReplyDeleteMan you look great in a fur vest but i am convinced i look like chebacca in star wars in one. Wish i could! they look so cute on everyone! maybe i have just not met the one yet! I have the same problem with lighting. Since im a teacher im kind of stuck still school is out and the sun is going down just about then! it's getting harder and harder!
