The other day while I was out shopping a woman complimented my bright red lip color - she remarked that she rarely sees young people wearing the super saturated hue.
I suppose (outside of the blogging world) that is pretty true, and I myself have only recently warmed to the red. However, it does make a great statement and is perfect for the winter months, when the little skin which is showing, is lacking color. Sometimes a nice pop of red is just what I need.

You know, had I not started blogging I don't think that I would have worn red lipstick in my 20's! I just now thought about that. They are sooo fun and are just such a great way to perk up an outfit or even you on a dreary day.
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely!
I barely ware any lipstick I don't know why - maybe I just haven't found the right shade. I love that you're using the vest :)
ReplyDeleteThe red lips do look so nice on you - I have one red lipstick. I wear it mostly on evenings, for some reason I never wear it during the day. I might give it a try.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. Lipstick is a great accessory and statement in the winter months. You look great as always!
ReplyDeleteI was never much of a lipstick wearer until I started blogging! Then I realized that my lips were nonexistent in photos, haha. It's a necessity now :) I love your classic white blouse! The fabric makes it seem so luxe and special.
ReplyDeleteLove this! I am sloooowly warming up to the thought of red lips, but I'm used to just chapstick so it's taking me a while to get there...haha

How fabulous that a lady stopped to tell you that. You really do look wonderful in red lipstick, though. I kind of wish I could wear lipstick, too, but I always feel like it looks strange on me! I guess I don't know until I try.
ReplyDeleteThis outfit gives off such an equestrian vibe and I really love it. That pretty vest of yours sure is getting lots of use. :D
Isn't it funny how many things seem normal in blogland, but aren't actually seen that often in real life?! Love the lipstick - that's a great shade on you.
ReplyDeleteI just got on board with red lipstick a few months ago - before then, I hadn't worn it since my ballet recitals as a kid! So because of that, I took a little while to warm up to it for non-special occasions. I felt a little self-conscious the first few times I wore it, but it's such a classy look that I just love it!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great on you, especially with a black and white combo on top.
I'm a new convert to red lips too! Now I love to wear it for special events and it gives such a great pop of color!

Your colouring can really take the red. Enjoy it - not everyone looks as good as you.
ReplyDeleteI'd compliment you on your lips too. The color is quite lovely. Cool vest. Reminds me of that signature patent print by Chanel.
ReplyDeletelove that color, I love red lips!

ReplyDeleteI think you look so glamorous in these photos! Maybe it's the red lips or that fabulous vest...but either way...love it!

I'm also a lipstick convert, thanks to the blog. My lips always look so pale in photos if I don't swipe it on. But it does make people look pulled together instantly.
ReplyDeleteI love that you are rocking the red lip, looks amazing on you! I have yet to find my perfect shade lol
ReplyDeletegreat look! the lips give a perfect last touch to the whole outfit :)

Aww what a nice compliment to get! :) I don't wear lipstick often, and when I do it's more of a natural colour, but I like it for the little extra colour :)

Red lips look gorgeous on you! I love your outfit, those pants are such a pretty color, and I love your boots!
ReplyDeleteThat ring is the bomb!
ReplyDeleteI recently started wearing coral on my lips and I never would have done that before blogging. I have yet to find the right red for my skin tone but I'm still on the look out!

The red looks great on you. I don't know many people who wear red lipstick outside of blog land. Most of my friends wear lipgloss.
ReplyDeleteWhat I noticed was the red nails!
ReplyDeleteThat is a GORGEOUS vest! I love it! Red lipstick looks great on you.

LOVE THE PANTS!!

Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThat leather jacket looks fabulous on you!
I love the way a bold red lip is the perfect accessory to this classic meets edgy look! I rarely do a bold lip but I love the effect it can have!
ReplyDeleteI gotta agree with you, red lipstick is that perfect pop of color in an outfit. I didn't really like red lipstick when I was a teenager, but now in my 20's its a must have for me. Great outfit btw!!! You always look so chic :)

What a beautiful vest! And that shirt colour looks fab on you. xo
ReplyDeleteYou look like a cool New Englander here, like if maybe if Tory Burch decided to go edgy preppy. This vest is just so cool, especially because it's quilted.
ReplyDeleteI've been wearing red since the early days of ballet recitals, but there were at least four or five years that I didn't wear it. I feel like I should branch out into other colors, like maybe plum?
Still very scared by how lipstick looks on me.. It just doesn't seem to work-- any color!
ReplyDeleteI'm so frustrated. HELP! Any ideas?
