Anything you see on the site is sort of a 'base model' because you can add or subtract sleeves, shorten or lengthen hemlines, change the collar, add pockets -- and they only charge $7.50, a price which can not be beat.
I chose the Her 50's Colorblock Skirt in the bright red and white, because I love a good striped skirt, and this will be so fun to style in the summer.
The cotton skirt is pleated and quite full. It has a hidden zipper and the waistband has a smocked back panel, so it's very comfortable to wear. The sizing was accurate, and any possible alterations are depicted in a little drawing so you can easily judge how the garment will look.
Because of the customizations, nothing stocked in a warehouse ready to ship - it is all made to order, and therefore the wait time is about two weeks. Even if you don't want any alterations, you still have to put in your height so that no matter what you choose, it will be the correct length for you.
As someone who is petite, and who pretty much has to hem everything, I can certainly appreciate this!

That is way awesome! I wonder if that is sort of the future of online retail? I certainly hope so because nothing beats reasonably priced alterations to make a piece of clothing fit you perfectly/to your liking. I could see bigger companies eventually jumping on this bandwagon.
ReplyDeleteAhh what a perfect fit, I've gotten a few emails from them but never the chance to check out the website. How cool!
