This time I decided to go to the Paul Mitchell school and let a student cut my hair.
Even though the process took a lot longer, since the instructor needs to check the students work, answer questions and demonstrate techniques, I actually enjoyed the experience. And I had my hair cut by a guy for the first time ever, so I cajoled him into taking an instagram photo with me. Haha.
Best $6 haircut ever.

Woohoo! It's definitely a great haircut! Looks so pretty when it's all curly :)

That haircut was $6? Are you kidding me, it looks like you spent $100! Props to him for his talent.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so cute on you, it's a great length and frames your face so nicely.
can't beat a 6 dollar haircut!! It looks great and you really can't tell that it was cut by a student. I'd try going there but I'd feel guilty going anywhere else but my hairdresser. I love the floral with the stripes!
ReplyDeleteNew hair looks fab! And your print mix is so cute, love the little touches of color!

Your hair looks great!
ReplyDeleteI love your new haircut and your pattern mixing outfit. I may have to steal that idea :) Heather
ReplyDeleteLovely! And $6, no less? Well done.
ReplyDeleteOooh, it looks great - and what a price!

Your hair looks awesome Lydia! I love beauty schools. I think a lot of people shy away from them because they are students, but as you say here, they are supervised. Yours turned out great!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the photo tips yesterday! I got a Canon Rebel T4I. I'm hoping it is something I will have forever and ever. Or at least for a very long time. I also didn't get the stock lens and upgraded to a Tamron 28-75 2.8 (I believe that's what it is). Now I just gotta get all the equipment. I've really loved playing with it so far though!
Oh I love your shorter hair, I loved your long hair too but it's nice to be adventurous with hair, after all it will always grow back. I just cut my hair myself the other day! LOL I can't believe I did it, but I want the short layers to grow out without having to get a haircut, my hairstylist tends to cut a lot every time I see her.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks lovely lady!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks FAB!!! That IS the best $6 haircut! When I was in pharmacy school, I got my hair colored by a Paul Mitchell student. It was $20 for my length hair, and it was so good! I'm sure there are horror stories out there too, but it seems like you can also get really lucky!

p.s. super cute outfit! love the stripes + floral!
Looks great! I rarely get haircuts too. But you can't beat a $6 one! I love the stripes and floral combo too!

ReplyDeleteGreat layering. I love the floral top.
A $6 haircut never look so goooood! I would have never guessed a student did it. I'm glad that your haircutting experience was more than awesome, Lyddie! Your hair looks lovely. <3
ReplyDeleteI really adore your collar/necklace combination, too! The colors work together so well. And there's those lovely earrings again--they really are such a nice little pop of blue.

What town is the school in? I used to live 15 minutes from an Aveda Institute & got my hair done there all the time. So affordable & fun! Looking great, btw!

Your hair looks great! I used to get mine cut at the Aveda school - it was great for a grad student on a budget and they always did a good job. I love the florals and stripes combo here!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks fab! The first picture made me think you'd cut it really short at first Love the floral/ strip pattern mixing:)
ReplyDeleteYour looks so cute that length
ReplyDeleteI went to the Aveda school a few time to get cut and highlights, it just took an entire day LOL
Love the stripes and floral look you have going on here

ReplyDeleteYay you did it!! Looks fantastic. We have an Aveda hair school here that I've also wanted to try, but was always afraid to!! There were some bad stories on Yelp!
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit and hair!
ReplyDeleteI'm terrible at getting haircuts. It's such a pain lol
ReplyDeleteLoving the pattern mixing, thanks for sharing :)

ReplyDeleteUm, yeah best $6 haircut ever! The student did a pretty awesome job on it, it looks so light and bouncy and so, so pretty! I love how it looks on you, it just shows off your natural beauty even more. (And darn, could you have prettier hair? Its so thick and bouncy, I want my hair to do that!)
ReplyDeleteHead to toe this is such a gorgeous look - love your floral layers and your haircut is so pretty - fresh and fabulous!

Generally I think the Paul Mitchell schools are really great. One of my good friends graduated from one of them. Now that I think of it, most of my stylists have actually been men.
ReplyDeleteI would really like to have a $6 haircut. I guess I could always go to the Aveda Institute, but it still costs $30.
I am really liking the jewelry and the floral and strips!
*googles nearest Paul Mitchell school for a $6 haircut."
ReplyDeleteI loved the instagram pic; your hair looks FABULOUS!

Oh my goodness you look so cute! That student did a fab job! I had a terrible hair school haircut in 2006 that I'm still getting over. So glad that your experience was so much better!
ReplyDelete$6 haircut?! It looks so good! I like to go to a nice salon a couple times a year to get my hair cut, but it's so expensive that I just avoid cutting my hair at all the rest of the year. I should try visiting one of those hairdressing schools.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the stripes/floral layering going on here - it's so springy, and yet perfect for winter.
Hair looks really fresh! I like! And i have both these top pieces and i will have to try them together! Great idea!
ReplyDeleteHOTPINKstyle
Amazing mix up. SOmetime florals can be over powering but the way you have styled it totally works!
