I was totally spoiled, having two blogger meetups in two days and on Saturday Meg, Christine, and I went thrift shopping and then took advantage of the beautiful weather to take tons of photos.

All three of us decided to buy midi rings from Urban Outfitters, since they were only $6 and were made in the USA!

Christine even surprised me with a belated birthday present, the pretty green leather bracelet I'm wearing, and a new coffee mug to add to my collection.

In addition to the ring, I picked up a pretty ikat print skirt for $19, which I can hopefully wear this weekend.

All in all, pretty great weekend!

Modern

This weekend I was fortunate enough to spend both Friday evening, and Saturday with Meg and Christine. With some spur of the moment plans to grab dinner after work; we met up in New Haven and took silly photos on the Green before having the best pizza in New Haven: Modern.

Being the little shopaholic I've been these past few weeks, I've added several new things to my closet, and this Marc by Marc Jacobs dress I thrifted for just under $10 was a fantastic find.

This blouse stands to be one of my favorite secondhand items, ever. The bright color is surprisingly wearable, and oddly enough, I've never paired it with my white jeans before... but I definitely will again.

Another striped dress in the closet

I know I have a slight obsession with stripes. I know I didn't need another striped dress, but I'd like to argue that this one is different and therefore justifiable. In my mind it is, anyway.

I know we all have our small obsessions, that one thing we keep buying, over and over again, despite logic and lack of closet space. For me its striped things, and leopard things, and also jewelry and sunglasses. And handbags. I'll stop at that, though I think we all know the list continues.

Office leopard

One of my favorite go-to office looks is simply pairing a dress with a blazer. It could not be more simple, but gives the appearance that I put far more effort into it than I actually did.

This is a good solution for a morning when you oversleep, or accidentally stay in bed for 20 minutes looking at pinterest on your iPhone.
Note: Pinterest is full of tons of great outfit inspiration. Just never outfits for this exact moment. In fact, you should pin this outfit so you can recreate it in 2-4 weeks.

I simply can not resist a statement piece, and when I spotted this J.Crew cuff at a local consignment shop, Cinderella's Attic, I had to make it mine. It does show a few small signs of wear, but not enough to be dissuaded by the $16 price tag and the fact that it is just stunning.

And speaking of eye-catching, I also picked up this pair of mirrored aviators at TJMaxx. It was a trend I was really hesitant to try, but since they were only $8, why not? Fortunately there were a few different shapes to choose from, and once I found the right pair, I kinda fell in love.

Spring is making promises outside

There is a lot to love about spring; the days get longer, temperatures rise just enough to abandon tights, the flowering trees burst into life, and fashion moves toward bright colors and bold statements.

London Times has a stellar spring lookbook this year, and they kindly sent me this fuchsia and orange lace dress. As with all their dresses, it's unbelievably comfortable, priced under $100, and is so very flattering. Also, machine washable. As someone who resents having to take anything to the dry cleaners, I really appreciate this. I would definitely recommend checking out their new arrivals!
