In my mind, something about wearing a straw fedora with a leather jacket didn't seem right; but when I tried it on I instantly liked it. Spring is such a transient season, with most days starting and ending with cold temperatures and a little preview of warmer climates during the day. A summer hat with a winter jacket felt oddly perfect together on an early spring day.

There is never a bad combination with a fedora in my opinion. Women never wear hats enough so I am fully on board wearing a fur coat and a fedora as long as one looks as fabulous as you do!
ReplyDeleteSpring weather is definitely the transition stage toward warmer weather so a leather jacket with a straw fedora is perfect. I love the blouse with the Calvin Klein skirt...and the zipper/leather details on it is luxurious.
ReplyDeletethis is a fabulous look! I love the cap toe shoes and the fedora, not odd at all!

This did work out rather nicely Lydia! I voted for you, of course. I love the mix of spring and winter pieces here but I sure can't wait until we don't need the winter pieces any longer! Yeesh!
ReplyDeleteI think it totally works...and I love the shoes you paired it with (I'm becoming increasingly envious of your footwear collection, FYI).

They look perfect to me - maybe because I am so use to not taking the weather into consideration when I get dressed. If i did I would never wear turtlenecks, tights or velvet jackets. In a way its like thinking outside the box.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean; straw and leather seem contradictory, but you look so great in them both that I'm glad you didn't let that thought hold you back.
ReplyDeleteI like fedoras, but I have a big head, lol! You look great in yours. The hat and leather jacket are a good combo. Your top is really pretty too. Heather
ReplyDeleteI bought a fedora the other day because I've wanted one for a while now, but ever since buying it, I've been wondering if I'll always look like Britney Spears circa 2006 while wearing it. I didn't know how to wear it in a way that wasn't super corny, but you've nailed it! Love it!
ReplyDeleteYou look so chic in your fedora!! That floral pairs so well with all the neutrals!!
ReplyDeleteYou look very sharp with the hat. =)
ReplyDeleteyou look adorable darling -- the skirt and the shoes are my favorite part

Oh man, I would have never expected leather and straw to fit, either. But you look great! Unexpected texture combinations are totally rad.

I don't think there is anything that a fedora doesn't go with... but you definitely have me convinced on the straw fedora/leather jacket combination, they look fabulous together! Adding a neutral skirt and shoes really makes your floral blouse pop, too - it's the perfect spring detail :)

I love this look. So fierce and elegant at the same time. I am in love with your skirt & pumps and together they match so well. Also, I'd love to add a Black Leather Jacket to my closet, sort of like yours. The fedora adds that sassy-ness.

The whole outfit looks amazing on you, sweetie and that skirt is so pretty. Muah
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is the perfect mix and mesh of two seasons. The straw fedora is light and springy, playing up the florals and your light skirt. While the leather accessories and accents firmly ground it and give it a certain edge.
