Distressed

A pair of denim shorts was another item on my summer must-have list. I was loving those super distressed cutoffs, the ones with a solid half inch disintegrating at the hem, however the most important factor for me when buying shorts is that they not be tight on the thighs.

For anyone who is self conscious about their thighs, skin tight shorts are a recipe for disaster. Nothing makes me feel worse than sitting down in a pair of shorts like that.

Fortunately the boyfriend style is big right now, and Old Navy has these shorts in three different washes, all under $20. They leave the perfect amount of space between fabric and thigh, and I suppose if I were feeling ambitious, I could turn them into cutoffs. But the rolled hem is pretty cute too.

    Oh gahd. Skin tight shorts ARE the worst. Also explains why I can't wear skinny jeans, and sometimes even leggings. Ain't nothin' worse than sitting down and feeling like your skin just exploded around you, hahaha. Glad we can relate. ;)

    These shorts are something I could do, though--I really like them rolled up! And that vest is fierce, Miss Lyddie!

    What a perfect summer outfit! Finding the pair of shorts that's not too tight but not too wide at the thighs either is a tough one, but your pair looks bang on.

    AMEN! I hate skin tight shorts, ESPECIALLY when it comes to denim ones! I have a hard time being comfortable in like chino's that are tighter, I die in denim!

    Oh man, I so cannot deal with tight shorts or short shorts any more. I used to love the ones at UO, but I feel like I am just too old for that, haha.

    I have yet to find a decently-fitting pair of shorts this summer... should probably just give up until next year!
