However I was out shopping with a friend who told me of their desire to own a wool baseball cap, and then I tried one on in J.Crew. As you can imagine, I became smitten, years of baseball cap snubbing diminished, and I had to have one.
Rather than spending $40 on the J.Crew cap, I found this equally cute one from the San Diego Hat Co. at Zappos for $20 (including free overnight shipping). Buying the less expensive cap also meant I had $20 to spend on another J.Crew lookalike, this pave link bracelet from Target.
The bracelet looks gorgeous, and I really hope it holds up. My only complaint was the toggle clasp, which I immediately removed and replaced with a lobster clasp I picked up at Hobby Lobby for less than a dollar.

You look so cute! The baseball cap suits you well! Funnily enough a baseball cap is the only type of head wear that I think suits me, ha ha. I don't have any fashion-y ones though

Once again I am in awe of your hat wearing abilities - I could so never pull that off. And love the bracelet as well, I hope your clasp wizardry holds.

Such a fun and cool look! I have been wanting a J. Crew style cap for a while but didn't want to pay the price. Thanks so much for finding a cheaper yet still chic looking alternative!
ReplyDeleteI have been eyeing that bracelet in Target for a while, it's very beautiful I am just not sure I'd really wear it enough to get my monies worth.
Gorgeous sweater!

Wow, this outfit is perfect! you have that sweater from Kohls that i like and the baseball cap is wonderful because there is no engraving on it! Ha, maybe you can "embellish" the cap with a pin for another look.
ReplyDeleteYou look great. I love your top. I haven't owned a baseball cap since I was a kid either but it looks like I need to rethink that. I have also been keeping my eye out for a pave bracelet so glad to know I can find one at Target.
ReplyDeletesuch a pretty layering of blingy!

That hat looks so cute on you! I love it with the pretty sweatshirt! I have always loved hats and I am so glad all of these new versions of caps are out now!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the sporty chic look! Super cute.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I haven't owned a baseball cap since I was a kid - probably since the end of my t-ball career at age five, come to think of it. So far they really haven't been on my radar but you have me thinking twice about that... it's just a shame Zappos doesn't ship to Canada anymore! I have to admit, though, the part of this look that really caught my eye was your sequinned Chucks! Another brilliant Target collaboration, and you're lucky to have found a pair in your size!

Yay! I love the baseball cap ;-) I'd never really thought about baseball caps until I saw the J.Crew ones. But yeah, I wouldn't have paid $40 for it either! (luckily I got mine on clearance) The one you found looks just as good! And I love the jeweled sweater!
