When I came across it again, after not having worn it the past few winters I thought I might alter it once more, this time to sit lower, more at my natural waist, and I think it's finally perfect.
It really is a beautiful, well made wool skirt. I'm glad I never gave up on it.

ReplyDeleteGlad you kept the skirt and adjusted it to the current style. Looks great with your blue sweater.
ReplyDeleteI have quite a lot of old pieces that I mix with new ones. Too bad I gave away a huge amount of high priced clothes several years ago... now I know better and have an excellent seamstress.

What a beautiful skirt! Thinking back, I think we did used to wear our skirts low on our hips - with skinny, embellished belts over top, if memory serves. (What we were thinking?) Most of my clothes from that era are long gone and there are a few that I wish I hadn't given up on, although nothing as beautiful as this skirt. There is nothing as perfectly classic as gray wool, and I love the way you add a twist on that timelessness by adding your ball cap!
