It may have something to do with this seemingly endless winter, but I am feeling some serious wanderlust lately, and Las Vegas is on my mind. A destination with highs in the mid 70°s and no chance of precipitation sounds pretty wonderful. Especially in comparison to my current forecast of freezing temperatures and snow.
I've never been to Las Vegas, but the allure of gambling at the casino for me is more about what I might wear:
The slot machines are definitely my speed, during the day in floral shorts and a crisp white shirt. I love the d'orsay flats which would be comfortable to get around in, but still have a nice metallic accent. The metallic tote will be great for toting all my winnings in, when I hit the jackpot. (And the of course holding all my purchases when I take said winnings and go shopping!)
For a night at the poker table I could wear the "Dreamtown Dress" and make the flats and bag do double duty. I think the tote would do well folded over to work as a clutch. I think I even surprised myself by not choosing something dripping in sequins for my evening attire, but something about this abstract print dress felt perfect for the Las Vegas strip. I envision free champaign, a very dapper man at my side, and hopefully enough beginners luck to get me through the evening.
Sadly jetting off to Vegas isn't a possibility right now, but maybe I could have a little gaming fun playing the
Avalon II slots game online, or picking up the Fodor's Guide to Las Vegas and start planning to make my vacation dreams a reality.
Have you ever been to Vegas? What is your favorite thing to do - do you gamble at the high-stakes tables, or just shop, see the shows, and take in the sights, pretending you are actually somewhere in Europe, rather than the middle of the desert?
