It was a very cold weekend, but we toughed it out and traversed the city. We celebrated my little Sister's 20th birthday with some cupcakes we imported from Sugar Bakery here in Connecticut, and for the first time ever, I was impressed. (Georgetown Cupcake and Crumbs were let downs.) Sugar won "Cupcake Wars" on the Food Network, and I will agree, it was well deserved. Also, unlike Georgetown and Crumbs, this bakery happens to only be 15 minutes away from me, so I can go back to try more flavors soon.

bahaha, it's always convenient to take your pictures where shopping is a mere 10 feet away! ;) On the weekends my dad and I "work the triangle"--we get lunch, get food for dinner, and get tea in places that are quick walks from each other.
ReplyDeleteI love that bag, Lyddie! It's a gorgeous color! Glad you had fun in Boston and had some delicious cupcakes, too!
Loving the Downtown Crossing photos...so awesome! Hope you had fun in Boston :)

Um.....you East Coasters have ALLL THE GOOD PHOTO SPOTS! I am so jealous! P.S. Did you hear back from that company? They would be a fool to not hire you!
ReplyDeleteClassic outfit. Love it. I am jealous about the cupcakes!
ReplyDeleteMmmmmm now I want some cupcakes! I love the preppy layers on this day Lydia!
ReplyDeleteI'm sad to hear that Georgetown cupcakes were a let down but honestly I'm not that surprised; typically when they look pretty they are dryer than dry and tasteless. I love your layered look though!!

Now this is a post I can get excited about - first, the most perfect casual weekend outfit that somehow makes plaid look totally sophisticated and then, a comparison of three cupcake bakeries...! You are a girl after my own heart, what I can say? And that red bag... I fall just a little bit more in love with it every time you wear it.

ReplyDeleteI love how the bag picks up the red in your top! :D
ReplyDeleteand ooh, I'm not one for expensive cupcakes (they never taste as good as ones from a mix) but we may have to try those next time I'm up there :p

Sounds like you had fun! You look adorable, love the layering!
ReplyDeleteThis look is exactly the kind of thing I want to live in right now--a cozy sweater layered with plaid and cute booties. I love that pair!
ReplyDeleteI love Downtown Crossing! I've done so much damage to my wallet there over the years. Great sweater, love that it lends to a more transitional look than a darker color would!
ReplyDeleteI also do the same thing--if I'm using a gift card, I don't count it as coming out of my budget ;P Also, great outfit shots! I haven't been able to get any in the busy city (traffic never works with me) but you look perfectly downtown chic!
