Typically I don't subscribe to this, in the past I have always ended up loving one color more than the other and it has turned out to be a waste.
However, my mother found the black version of my grey embellished sweater on the clearance rack at Kohl's and surprised me with it.
I promise to love them both.

What a deal! I need to check out kohls for this and see if I get lucky. Love.
ReplyDeleteAww yay! I love the black version too! Definitely good for those moody days, haha

I like that nail polish. How nice of your mom to get the sweater in the other color. You'll get a lot of use out of the black color. And I love that nail polish!
ReplyDeleteLove the sweater in black too! It pairs beautifully with the leopard print!

aahhh I think you're enabling me! I have been looking for an embelished sweater and this one looks fantastic. May I ask what size you are wearing? Feel free not to answer :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's awesome that you have two! I have two pairs of my favourite boots and a back up of my favourite purse. You know, just in case disaster strikes!

Love the cognac and black together! And with sweatershirts like that you definitely are justified with multiples!
ReplyDeleteI don't typically do it either, but for basics, I will. I am sure you will get great wear out of both sweaters! I LOOOOOOVE your jacket!
ReplyDeleteI typically don't have the money to buy something in more than one color. Buuttt... for a steal like that sweater was I would totally make an exception.
ReplyDeleteI am guilty of being a multiple buyer, but I find that you have to approach it a certain way. Just because I love a sweater in black doesn't mean I'll love it in turquoise - because I don't love turquoise. But chances are I will love it in gray and white. So when I buy multiples, I stick to colours I know I wear a lot. Black, white, gray. In this case, you're right on track with my multiple-buying philosophy :) I love how sophisticated the black version of this top looks, even paired with jeans. If for some reason you do tire of it, I'd be happy to take if off your hands ;)

Love the jeweled sweater and super cute clutch, love it.
ReplyDeleteI often buy multiples but like you, there are times I end up loving one color over another. I love this sweatshirt - both colors are great! Nice clutch too!

I adore embellished tops. I have one similar to yours. I think Loft or BR came out with it. I use to buy multiples, but I've limited myself. Sometimes they wouldn't get worn.

I understand the logic of multiples, but they rarely work out for me. like you said, I usually wear one more often than the other and it ends up being a waste of money. I think I only have a couple of multiples in my closet and they're simple pieces like jeans, t-shirts & cardigans.
ReplyDeleteI agree, multiples can be a waste, but sometimes they do get used up. Swimsuits and cardigans are the multiples I typically buy...
ReplyDeleteI always buy multiples! If something works, why not get more than one? :)

I have friends that swear by the buy multiple of what you like
ReplyDeleteNot my philosophy usually, but I would totally take a gray and black shirt like this

This sweater looks totally different and great in this color.

ReplyDeleteThat top is so lovely! I can see why you'd be happy having multiples of it :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice gift from your mum!

Great jumper and lovely bag. Perfect for that outfit.
ReplyDeleteI'm all for multiples. I have that J.Crew Tippi sweater in at least five colors. (I should count, but I'm not sure if I want to know!)
ReplyDeleteLove the green ring!
ReplyDeleteHey, if it's a gift, it's no worries! ;) I love that your mom still buys you little things. I'm always happy to come home to see my mom has found a little something for me, even if it's just some awesome scented shampoo, haha!
ReplyDeleteThat sweater is cute, though, and black and grey always give different looks. Your leather jacket is so FIERCE!
great look. xx

I am a buy one in every color gal and you're right, I do wear one more than the other. I need to get myself over to Kohl's and I may or may not show restraint if I happen to find the grey and black top.. I might need both.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog, thank you for stopping over at my corner of the world.
You are a girl after my own heart- TJ Maxx is absolutely one of my favorite stores, the thrill of the hunt, totally therapeutic.

Your mom picks out some awesome presents!
ReplyDeleteThose sweaters are gorgeous and in such neutral colors they are both very versatile. Love the styling of your black one. =)
ReplyDeleteI'd be lying if I said I didn't believe in multiples. I just bought two of the same dress but in different colors from TJ Maxx!
ReplyDeleteI always wish I had bought multiples of my favorite items, but don't usually have that kind of foresight! Love this whole look pretty lady!
