Just before I was finally going to cart them off to the thrift store, I wondered if perhaps they could be saved. I really liked the fit in the waist, they are skinny through the thighs, so why not just remove the bulky awkward boot cut and skinnify them?
Brilliant, no?

Wow! The turned out so well!! I always wonder if I should try skinnifying some pants, but haven't gotten around to it yet. You did a great job!
ReplyDeleteThat is impressive! I have jeans like that too and you are like me in that I notice you don't wear jeans very often (well, regular blue jeans anyway) so that justifies the lack of blog love for them. But they look great skinnified! I love the navy and camel together too!
ReplyDeleteAbout to run and get that Essie polish, love your entire outfit!

It's like a new pair of jeans for free! Plus you get to feel extra good about it because you did it yourself!
ReplyDeleteI love your attitude - if a piece of clothing isn't working for me, nine times out of ten I just get rid of it. The fact that you made these jeans work is so inspiring to me. Plus... without the bootcut, the fit is amazing! And paired with navy, brown, gold and leopard (!!), they couldn't be more perfect.

Good Job. Someone once said that a good tailor is better than having expensive duds that don't fit.
ReplyDeleteGenius! You have me wanting to scope out my closet to see if I have any cast off's that I can salvage!

ReplyDeleteGreat idea! And love the combination of the navy blue with the gold necklace and the tan jacket.
ReplyDeleteYes, brilliant !!! they fit perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI am off to the seamstress to pick up some stuff she has from LAST year. Lets see what her excuse is now.
I admire your resolve. I don't really like jeans as it is and would never put that kind of effort in to give them new life. I'd rather just toss them and put on a skirt.
ReplyDeletelove the pumps!
