This orange silk top is part of my last big thrift haul. It's from a store in New Canaan CT (where the rich people live) and all the clothing there was half off. I left with this bright orange tank, a white Loft pencil skirt, a black Banana Republic tee, and a grey cashmere hoodie. I got it all for $30, which is both a lot of money, and not a lot of money. Thrift shopping is funny like that.

The utility jacket is a must have in every girl's wardrobe. Super cute look and your legs look amazing!
ReplyDeleteI really need to get myself a utility jacket, I've wanted one for a couple years and still haven't done it, haha. Love that silk top too, such a great color

You do a fabulous job mixing textures. That sheen on the orange top is great with the utility jacket. The thing about utility jackets is they are great for all year. I also love all the pockets. Four items (which I'm sure are all great quality) for $30 is a good deal, but I get where you're coming from on it being a lot too.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I got a utility jacket this year...it really is a wardrobe staple! I have to scope out the thrift stores in rich neighborhoods near me :)

Things I can relate to in this post:
ReplyDelete1. shopping at thrift stores where the rich people live. LOL! They donate the best stuff! There is a Goodwill by the college campus in Boulder CO that I go to because they always have J. Crew and Banana Republic and all the great name brand goodies!
2. Utility jackets. I just did a remix of mine. I love it. They are the best jacket ever--next to denim and the trench of course.
3. $30 at a thrift store is a decent amount of money. But it usually means you got a lot of great stuff out of it.
I love the olive, white and orange combo here Lydia!
Love this look! That utility jacket is perfect!

Ah, the utility jacket. It's true that everyone has one, including me - but sometimes there's a reason for that, like the incredible practicality and total comfort of the piece. Plus, they go with everything. Even, apparently, shorts! I never thought of it but I will be trying it now :) And as for your thrift haul... four pieces including cashmere for $30? I am, as ever, seriously impressed.

Ha! Well you're not wrong...everybody DOES have that jacket. I was tempted to get one, but I kind of feel like it'll be out of style next season when everyone gets tired of seeing it all around.
