The Diamond

I was cleaning out my jewelry box when I noticed one of those velvet hinged boxes sitting on top. It's been there for such a long time I was nearly blind to it and it's thick coating of dust.

Inside was an assortment of friendship necklaces from Claire's (some of those friendships are still viable, others were never worthy of the charm in the first place). But the jewel I found most intriguing is the one I'm wearing. Thin and delicate, the chain is marked 14k gold, and the stone I believe, might just be tiny enough to be a real diamond.

Diamonds are my birthstone, and the necklace has the look and feel of something my Great Aunt might have gifted me, so real or not, it is precious and I am pleased to be wearing it again.

    Those are the best finds. I have some jewelry hidden away in one of my drawers and this has reminded me to go through it (I had hidden it during our last move!). This dress looks comfy but also so chic.

    Those kinds of discoveries really are the best kind - a tiny diamond necklace, just hiding in your jewelry box, unworn for years. And it's such a beautiful, classic shape, I just love it. I have something similar but in the shape of a somewhat - I hate to say it - cheesy heart and although it's special in a way, I couldn't wear it with a straw hat and neon clutch. No way. Speaking of which - straw hat and neon clutch, another fabulous combination!

    Augh, don't you love it when you stumble across jewelry that brings up friendship memories like that? I still have a letter necklace with an "F" on it and remember my friend told me she couldn't find one with an "A" so she got an "F" for friend instead. :)

    Anywho, I love that hexagon necklace--bee power to the max--and your delicate jewelry is lovely as well. :D
