After it arrived from ABadDay, it took me a little while to get the nerve to put it on and take it out into the world. I thought for sure as I walked around the New Haven streets, that someone was bound to offer me a comment or commentary on it's brightness or poofiness, but no. Not even the homeless broke from their usual spiels to discuss the skirt.
I'm not sure if I am relieved or disappointed, but I think I might just have to wear it at least once more.
If you are feeling tempted to try a neon green poofy skirt for yourself, I would not recommend this one. I spent ages ironing it before I left the house, and as you can see, I stepped out of the car completely wrinkled again. Additionally, the skirt is cut on a bias and the hem was not done with bias tape, therefore it's all twisted and messy looking.

I love this and I think your styling is perfect here!
ReplyDeleteDespite all the "downside" with the skirt, I love the color and style, and I think it looks great on you. definitely give it another chance. :-)

Love the neon skirt! You look so pretty!

I love me some neon! I've been walking around with a similar colored bag for 2 summers (I think maybe it's about time to retire it though). The skirt looks great on you, even if it does get a bit wrinkly.
ReplyDeleteIt is a really dramatic skirt - I'm surprised you didn't get any comments. And that's too bad about all the issues with it - it looks pretty fetching in the photos!

Love the full skirt. I am a huge fan of this look. The shoes are so pretty as well. Love the neutral top with the neon bright. You look great

Despite the issues you had with the skirt being wrinkled - it looks really cute on you!!! I love how you've styled it with a neutral top and accessories so the skirt really pops!

For the Love of Leopard
I would rather not purchase another neon item.
ReplyDeleteFor now 2 tops, 1 trouser, 1bag and bracelets should last me as long as the trend is alive.
Too bad about the skirt, I can see what you mean on the seam, but it looks good from afar and the colour is beautiful.
It's too bad about the wrinkles (ironing...ewww) because it's such a fun skirt. I love the color and it has just the right amount of poof!
ReplyDeleteyou look so pretty! I have the same skirt from Choies and I had to get it professionally altered and add a zipper for better fit!

I hope you give the skirt another try as you look so pretty! I don't really iron so that would probably be a deal breaker for me though.

The skirt looks super fun. I know sometimes it can be intimidating to wear such shocking colours but I find the more I do it the less it bothers me :)
ReplyDeleteIf I had seen you wearing this out and about I definitely would have complimented you!! I love the bold color! Too bad the hem/cut is wrong! But you look fab!

I really like how you styled this skirt. Definitely wear it at least one more time.
ReplyDeleteDespite the obvious small problems with this skirt - I actually did notice the messy hem, which surprised me, because I'm not normally that nitpicky - it still is a beautiful and totally eyecatching piece, especially in photos. I just love that last shot, it really captures the poof beautifully. I can't believe I just typed that, but it's true, anyway.
ReplyDeletexox,

PS: I can't believe you didn't get a single comment - you definitely need to wear it again, it must have been a full moon!
Regardless of the small details, you pulled off this bright green skirt very well - love how voluminous it is!

I think you are a vision of loveliness!! Definitely making a statement.
ReplyDeleteThis color looks amazing on you!! I'd never be able to wear it because it would make my pale skin look sickly haha but on you it's incredible! Especially with that orange-red lippy! You look super pretty and chic girl!

All together the outfit looks amazing. The top is just gorgeous and the proportions are all perfect, but I can see what you're talking about with the hem. I hate it when that happens.
ReplyDeleteI want a neon green poofy skirt now! It looks super cute and summery. It's a shame the hem is not done right.
