But the starfish cuff was never a big trend, just one of my own personal obsessions. When I wanted it three years ago it was impossible to find, and now the cuffs are everywhere. While I have not reached the point of being done with it, three years later I find myself into the month of August before wearing it for the first time. Even though I've gotten plenty of wear out of it, I still feel guilty.

I have a lot of pieces like that. I love them, yet I hardly wear them...oops! XD

I try to get rid of pieces I don't wear often. I should probably have a closet sale soon. Love the look and that cuff is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI have just read the story on the green wrap dress on Annette's blog and was curious to know more about you!
ReplyDeleteVery nice blue skirt , and ... you are wonderful!!
I have an unnatural emotional connection to my clothes and feel this guilt nearly everyday when I can't wear these things, but I am trying to use it as a positive to be excited for the day that I can wear them.
ReplyDeleteThis cuff is one of my faves of yours as well. It looks great with these stripes!
This is the coolest bracelet! I actually haven't seen this anywhere, but I really love it. This skirt is fantastic too!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see you sporting that I think of it as a signature you piece...even if you wear it less frequently it's still a real gem!

I've definitely had similar guilty experiences. I always hate waste, but at the same time there's so much more in life to sweat about so I try to just ignore the feeling. The cuff is adorable... I havent seen many if them. Really beautiful. You'll get wear out of it every summer:)

That cuff is definitely a beauty! I actually have never seen one but will definitely keep an eye out for it now. Love entire look by the way. The skirt is truly pretty.

LOVE your monogram necklace and your starfish cuff, how cute!
ReplyDeleteThat cuff is seriously to die for!! And I can relate because I totally have a problem buying trends like crazy and then hating it all in a few months lol I usually hang on to it for awhile and then start to slowly wear it all again! This piece though will never go out of style!

Ugh man, I know that feeling! I feel like I get bored of things way too quickly. That and my body keeps changing so my wardrobe keeps having mini makeovers. But I really do adore that bracelet of yours, so yay you for getting it out and wearing it some more. If you keep it around long enough you'll be all, hey, I need to wear that bracelet again! I do that a lot--rediscovering items.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great play on a nautical look, and that cuff is totally worth obsessing over... and that skirt is just adorable!

It's such a gorgeous piece! I love the ocean so I've always been a big fan of this cuff. I remember seeing it on you last year and it inspired me to snag the ring version when I was in Maui! I need to wear it more though!
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit!! The purse is amazing!

I want to say I don't succumb to this guilt. I really do. In general, I wear most of my clothes and accessories pretty much regularly and quickly dispense with what I don't. But there are a couple of major exceptions and one of those is anything related to my wedding. Last weekend, I had a wedding to attend. While rifling through my closet trying to put together an outfit, I stumbled upon the dress I wore to my engagement party... in 2010... and had never worn since. It's a beautiful piece and I felt terrible for neglecting it, but at the same time, I know why I have; it's a statement piece and everyone who saw me at the engagement party would recognise it as "the dress". Luckily, this wedding had no repeat guests so I was able to pull it off. But still. Rest assured, you are not the only one with unworn-stuff-related-guilt.

Hey, you only get to feel guilty if you didn't wear it at all this summer! I have a ridiculous jewelry collection, but wear the same things over and over again. It doesn't mean I don't adore the other pieces. They're like good friends. Always there. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute, classic look. I love it! And I still love that starfish bracelet, glad you busted it out again :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun bracelet and this skirt is great too!
ReplyDeleteLoving the red, white, and blue and oh my gosh that starfish bracelet! So cute!!

I love that Starfish bracelet! It's such a statement piece.
ReplyDeleteI hear you, girl. I have 3 bubble necklaces hanging in my jewelry armoire I don't reach for as often because they're soooo often done. But I also think when you love something, you should wear it, no questions. I'm torn!
ReplyDeleteThe cuff looks great- love your stripes and bright white. :)

First of all I love this Nautical Look and wore something very similar for the 4th of July which I posted on the blog a few weeks ago. Your gorgeous starfish cuff adds to the nautical appeal. And I personally love both the stormy sea and the bubble necklace.
ReplyDeleteI know how much you love nautical outfits so I'd love for you to check out my post from today (Aug 7th) because it is filled with many remixed nautical outfits. Thanks so much. =)
What a cute cuff! It looks so nice with your nautical outfit!
ReplyDeleteI walked the streets on NY looking for that cuff until I found it in the fashion district!
ReplyDeleteSO i i can totally relate, because i too feel its been a bit neglected..
oh and the bubble necklace still lives in my drawer.
What lipstick are you wearing? That color looks ah-mazing!
ReplyDeleteSmall question - have you tried Vain Pursuits skincare? My friend's recommending me them since my skin is basically breaking out horribly right now! Love to read what you think!
Yup. I do the exact same thing. And I feel guilty for keeping something that I haven't worn in a while. That cuff though. What a statement! It's almost too special to wear (that's one of my other excuses...)
ReplyDeleteI like the nautical feel! Great look :) I think someone above mentioned Vain Pursuits? They do personalized skincare I believe but I haven't tried them out yet!
