I've worn it all, and I love it all, but chiffon by nature is a thin, sheer fabric, and the skirts with those mini slips, made from a fabric nearly as thin and sheer as the chiffon itself left me feeling over exposed.
This skirt from Simply Bridal has a full length, two layer lining, for complete, opaque coverage. It has a proper, sized waistband for a smoother look, and was custom made to my height. Of course this skirt's intended purpose was to be part of a two piece look for a bridesmaid, and it would be beautiful doing so - plus it really could be worn again! Simply Bridal offers hundreds of affordable designs, all of which are made to order and can be custom sized. Even if you aren't getting married, this is still the perfect pleated skirt.

That skirt looks like Julia's from GMG and I looovveeeeee it. Something about my pleated skirts hasn't worked for me. I have actually considered getting rid of it. I feel like an 8 is wayyyy too big for you but I would totally send it to you.
ReplyDeletegorgeous! i really need a skirt like this... i'm so out of the blogger loop. :( haha

Beautiful skirt and it looks great on you! I'm slowly embracing pleats as I don't think they look good on me.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you about a maxi skirt being a 4 season staple! This pale pink color is beautiful and I think I need one for myself!

I would never have looked at that skirt and thought it was bridal. It's very pretty, and I can see how it will be so versatile!
ReplyDeleteI am not exaggerating when I say that this is the most gorgeous outfit you've ever worn. You look radiant in this skirt Lydia.

LOVE the orange and soft pink together. Great combo.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous skirt, I love the color combo you did!
ReplyDeleteThat is one gorgeous pleated maxi skirt. One of those is on my must-buy list for next Summer. I want a Teal, Turquoise or Hot Pink one. I'd also love one in a Soft Blush like yours. Love how it looks with the Orange Tank. Gorgeous Lyddie!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! I just love the color and how you paired it with the orange tank. I can't wait to see how you style this in the cooler months.
ReplyDeleteI gasped (in delight, of course) when I saw the first image. That skirt is incredible and looks lovely with orange. I wish more skirts like this had real waistbands. I hate the bulk elastic waistbands add.

What a fantastic idea for a bridesmaid! I love the color and flowy look of it!
ReplyDeleteIt's true that pleats are beautiful year round but there's no denying that I love them best in the summer, when the easy, breezy way that they blow in the wind on a warm day really shines. This skirt is gorgeous - and I love it paired with orange. But I'm equally interested to see how you might style it for cooler weather (and admit I'm envisionning something involving a leopard coat.)

This skirt is so gorgeous! I can also actually see it with a white sweater and boots in the snow :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that skirt is so pretty! You're right, it would make a great bridesmaid look, but it's actually wearable again. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteYou look so casual and elegant at the same time! I love your styling too!

Oh, wow what a gorgeous skirt Lydia.
ReplyDeleteI like how you made it work with a tank.
I can think of so many things you can style this with.
Looking forward to seeing more of it.
THIS is absolutely beautiful! What a gorgeous skirt! I do agree. I sold my black one because it was sheer. Black is not supposed to be sheer.

ReplyDeleteIt looks great with that orange!
