Even though I am never lacking inspiration, I have other bloggers, pinterest, magazines and it all seems to be an unending influx; however I was delighted when I spotted a look in one of those roundup emails I could actually take a cue from: black and white grid print and a grey blazer.
Just a simple combination of neutrals (with my addition of geometric shapes) that does work quite well.

I think I need to invest in a windowpane piece for fall! It's so clean and crisp and looks perfect paired with a neutral blazer!

I love the windowpane print of your dress. And the grey blazer is perfect for adding in another color, but still keeping the look neutral!
ReplyDeleteThis dress is beautiful and if you add black tights you will be ready for Winter!

Love this dress! I've been pinning fall looks like crazy, getting inspiration from others is so fun.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous printed dress and those shoes are very elegant.
ReplyDeleteRed Reticule
Your pumps are amazing! I need some loafer pumps/heels.
ReplyDeleteYayy!!! Looks good! I know what you mean, a lot of the things I see in magazines and want to recreate I either have no place to wear them or no similar pieces...so sad

Love the window pane print!! Beautiful outfit with the gray blazer...
ReplyDeleteLove the dress! Glad to see you are enjoying the earrings!
ReplyDeleteIndeed! I love when I discover I can replicate an outfit that I like! This dress and blazer were made for each other! That blazer looks so comfy and soft!
ReplyDeleteThis just looks so classic! And thank you for your kind comments and suggestions on my friends issue. It's appreciated!
ReplyDeleteIn looove with those shoes. I am feeling fall this year, I just want to wear plaid and drink hot things and read books, but unfortunately I live in California where it is eternal summer. Love your outfit though :)

I can't get enough of grids, love this!
ReplyDeleteLove grid print anything and love how you styled this grid print dress. Simple and chic. ~Cynthia
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely top-notch when it comes to neutral outfits! The grid print adds so much. I love this!
ReplyDeleteI love the print on this dress! Grey and black is one of my favorite combos for the fall/winter months. Looks great on you!

Such a gorgeous dress! I love the print!

I really, really enjoy this. The dress is awesome and the shoes are super cute!

The simplicity of that outfit makes it very chic and fashionable.
ReplyDeleteLoving those loafer heels!
I love the outfit! I need more printed neutrals in my life... I hate the "must have for fall" articles, it's seems like they're always pushing the trendy items that we'll be tossing after a few wears. I have the best luck inspiration wise with the style bloggers and Instagrammers who style thrifted items.

You look comfy and chic in this outfit and that dress can go from office to date night.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more with you about the emails!! I get so many, but they always end in disappointment. However, your dress is absolutely perfect. Now this is what I call inspiration! :)

I love the dress! I am always a sucker for black & white prints and simple outfits! This one is super pretty!
ReplyDeleteYou know even though I follow bloggers, receive more fashion newsletters than I would like, glance over magazines, Pinterest.. I often find myself lacking inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI am actually looking forward to an upcoming trip where I hope to see new things and trends… let's see how that works.
Oh and I like it - I just realised that I have a similar blazer !
Love this! Your dress is so flattering and I love your accessories:)

That dress is amazing! I love the colors and print!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny - in this respect, we're opposites. I never read those emails, because I know that almost 100% of the time, there will be nothing I want to recreate. Whereas when I visit blogs I love, like yours, I constantly find inspiration and pieces that are missing from my closet, like this incredible printed dress. Oh, I am in love. I think I may have said the same thing about it before, but it bears repeating :)
ReplyDeletexox,
Cee
I never read those emails because I have learned so much that they don't work for my body. Plus, I feel like there is something very editorial about them which makes them not work in real life for me. Then again, I could just not be a legit blogger because I often fail at these kinds of things.
ReplyDeleteI really like this windowpane dress! It is a trend I plan to try out for fall. It looks great with this grey blazer!

The oversized check print is totally on my radar right now - love this dress!
ReplyDeleteI love this look--the blazer with that dress is so chic! I'm always a sucker for those "15 work-ready looks" or "what to wear this weekend" types of articles/emails too, but more often than not I don't actually get much out of them.
ReplyDeleteLOL I never look at those emails because they only make me want to shop more! And I already want to shop enough. But this is a fantastic look. Love that dress!

I feel the same way when I look at the ads but you definitely have come into your own style and it is amazing!http://soworkweekchic.blogspot.com/2014/10/swwc-style-challenge-week-2-plaid-on.html
ReplyDeleteThere's something about black & white that you can never go wrong with. I love it paired with the grey blazer.

Simple, but still makes an impact due to the fun pattern...love it!
ReplyDeleteI completely know what you mean. I hate when that "perfect" fall inspiration pic is full of inaccessible statement pieces! Your outfit, on the other hand, is perfect and just as inspiring as those articles!
ReplyDeletehttp://bedknobsandbaubles.com/
My fave is when those round-up/get the look emails feature gorgeous pieces (like jackets/coats) that are like an ARM AND LEG in price.
ReplyDeleteYes, I would love that $1700 coat, but let's get real here. :)
You look great- LOVE the grid print!

Ugh, the emails are so tempting! I am LOVING this dress. It looks like matching separates which I am all about.

I haven't checked out the part of my inbox where all the sales and coupons get mailed to, in months (since most of them are from US and I live in Europe now). Plus it's pointless because they will make me clothes-hungry. You look so cute+tropical in this outfit. The hat suits you so much. I can see this working for at least 3 seasons, Lydia. =)
ReplyDeleteLove this look, very classy chic!

I completely agree with you with the lack of styles that I fall under with the must haves. This neutral look is beautiful though and I really like it.
